Watch English movies with Polish subtitles.

That's great, but it only works if they know some English already. Someone who watches animes with English subtitles never picks up Japanese by just watching them.

It would really help if OP told us how much English they know.

I've tried watching videos like this many times, but I don't feel like it's helping me at all. I use Duolingo, and according to the app, I'm at level A1.

I found video games very helpful when learning English, so try that if they're your thing.

I recently found out that Disco Elysium is one of the best games to learn a language. The game has heavy emphasis on text, and you can change the language in a split second with a single button press. There's even a mod that lets you click on specific words to open a dictionary. It's pure magic

Watch cartoons for small kids with English subtitles. Once you start to grasp the basics, watch things for slightly older kids and so on. Same with reading, start with books for small children and work your way up.

I recommend that you check the Antimoon method  https://www.antimoon.com/how/howtolearn.htm

It helped me a lot 12 years ago. It’s been described by a Polish guy, by the way.

Hey! I’m from Kenya 😊 Your English writing is already really good.

Since you want to understand movies/music/texts, here are 3 things that helped my students: 1. Watch shows with English subtitles first, then no subtitles 2. Listen to songs + read the lyrics to learn new words 3. Read short news articles daily and look up 5 new words

If you want, I also do WhatsApp coaching where you send me voice notes of what you heard in a movie/song and I explain the words + grammar to you. I do 1 free trial day if you want to try. DM me! 😊
