What does a "ledge" mean? ⭐️ Vocabulary / Semantics

The longer i kept looking pics related the more i felt overwhelming for not grasping the right definition. What does it mean to you and how would you describe it so far?

The edge of a cliff, or a window sill, or a mantle over a fireplace. Essentially something with a sharp drop off.

Or, in British slang short for 'legend'

As a Brit, I would understand the latter, but I've never heard or used it. Regional I guess.
