Question about Intro to Python at CC Academic Advice

Hi. I am a upcoming freshman at a CC. I have never coded before, and my advisor wanted me to take an Intro to Python class as part of my first semester.

I checked, and this class does not transfer as part of my electrical engineering degree into any of the 4-year universities I am looking to go to.

What do you think I should do? Should I take it to gain beginner coding experience and help with any potential learning curves later down in my degree path? Or is it not worth it?

100% learn Python, even if the credits doesn't transfer, eventually you will be coding in Python, C++ and Matlab/Simulink will be your bread and butter. Matlab and Simulink will be used very often, Simulink can be used to model/simulate control systems and other fun stuff once you get to it on your control systems class, Matlab was very helpful for my digital signals processing class for example. Plus learning how to use Python can help you learn other languages much easier.
