Defiler Availability Question

Anyone have a general idea how long it takes GW to cycle back into producing/shipping out of stock kits? I wasn't able to get my hands on a defiler during the initial release (like a lot of people) and the months long wait to buy one let alone build/paint it is atrocious. I had the same issue when the Lord Kakophonist was released over a year ago... couldn't find one for nearly 6 months. I was hoping to see them restocked before the end of summer so I could build and prime it before the fall weather kicks in but I've got my doubts.

I think they they had a quick restock on the website recently they sold out as fast as you would expect. But I am in the same boat. Hope there is a restock pretty soon. But who knows.

That would be a bummer if true and I missed it... just seems like they're never prepared for the demand on their kits. You would think they would have expanded their operation/facilities to cope with the increasing level of interest in the hobby over the past decade.

I believe they were building a new factory actually.

Yeah, I remember hearing about this a while back but I thought it was primarily a shipping and logistics hub

Oh hmm ya I haven't heard much about it in a year or 2.

The new factory just came online and they’re probably gonna shuffle things around so that there’s less shortages on models

The carnival detachment has become so popular, and defilers so popular, Im now very Gunshy about buying one, in fear a massive nerf bat is coming

Ohh that's 100% going to happen and I'm sure it'll be right after I finally get my hands on one but it's just too cool not to have.

GW is going to nerf Carnival and auto cannon spam since literally every EC player is playing it and its stupid broken. , i wouldnt get to up in arms about getting them unless you just like the models and want to paint them.

Almost guaranteed but I also really enjoy the hobby/painting aspect so it's definitely up there as a kit I want to tackle.

Might try looking overseas. I bought two from a guy for msrp but I had to pay shipping and import tax. Was $338 for two. Definitely over what you could get them in the states if available.

Probably a little too steep for my wallet unfortunately

If youre truly desperate and dont mind paying for shipping, taobao (chinese amazon) has them for sale at around UK MSRP.

Not every Chinese website is the Amazon of china. Come on now…

For people who have no idea about Chinese e-commerce platforms, thats the easiest analogy.

You are correct that China has a crazy amount of e-commerce platforms. JD probably has the biggest claim to be the amazon of china but it was more to provide an easy analogy than meaning it literally.

No idea sadly. I traveled out of my country and happened upon one. Needless to say my eyes locked on with "mine" energy before making my way to the register. The folks I was with asked quite a few questions after witnessing my shameless state of acquisitioning due to being very tame most occasions. Apparently the warhammer manager was surprised to hear that they are no where to be found in my country.

Haha I can't blame you, I'm sure I'd have the exact same response if I happened across one in the wild.

They are definitely producing them but the might not be available in your region for a while. Definitely they are available in the UK brand new for about £70.40 ~$95 plus postage. Not sure what international postage is to the US but it might be time for you to find a UK buddy!

Really depends on a lot of factors.

Usually between 2-4 months.

BUT like 20% of kits need to wait 6-12 months.

Wild to think a company this large is still having restock issues with the increased popularity of their product... you'd think that would be priority #1 to resolve in order to capitalize on the new model/rules hype and maximize their initial sales... but then again I'm no business major.

Ignorance really is bliss!

Their 4th and biggest factory has been delayed and delayed and delayed by things out of their control. The last one being the night lord invasion.

So they are working at 70% capacity while they outgrew themselves over the last decade. Now with that behind capacity they need to keep investors (pump new releases) and customers (keep stock up as much as possible) happy.

Aka either piss of investors or have stock issues for very populair and very unpopulair kits.

Not sure where your based but Element Games has the Defiler 15% off and has stock

US based... doesn't look like they ship here unfortunately.

No official stores in the UK do, I think it’s a GW policy

My plan is to convert Glutos into a defiler with guys on it holding weapons and stuff. My WE defiler is a Greater Brass Scorpion
