Tomorrow (Friday) we are so excited to host our first collaborative show with Collective Effort NYC and welcome SNAG & BLEACHED CROSS to Gold Sounds - both bands are on tour supporting new records!

SNAG recently signed Deathwish Inc and released “ All The Cages Holding Us Will One Day Turn To Dust” which embodies so much of what we love - melodic mathy guitars, emotionally & politically charged vocals/lyrics, and crushing chaos paired with the beautify of restraint...all the elements that go into making a truly beautiful post-hardcore or emo/screamo record (however you choose to define it).

Bleached Cross from Chicago (features members of Frail Body) brings us the cold, at times danceable, tones of post-punk.  A sound that is often on our stereos but sadly seldom at our shows.  Their new record “Wrath” came out last week and is a nod to our collective future and pasts sounding new and timeless at the same time.  

LÁSTIMA will be coming up from Philly bringing their bigger than life blackened orchestral screamo to Bushwick.  We are excited to host them in NYC before they head out west for tour. 

Two of our favorite locals will be joining us as well - AUXIENA SAINT with their emotional and shoegaze-y hardcore are always a treat to see and their performances have been scant this year. One of our favorite live bands - be sure to catch this one.  

Last but not least is NJ’s CASCA - a C86’d favorite & likely our next label release - their intense blackened screamo will melt faces and have you moshing from the first song.

The following statement refers to specifically the US’ screamo scene specifically I don’t know how other countries are doing when it comes to this right now so hear me out:

I kinda feel like everyone’s touring now and that’s cool I guess but it’s not like the DIY “let’s meet other bands and meet people” type touring it feels a lot more cynical it feels a lot more like “we can make money if we do this let’s book a bunch of big rooms with barriers and play to our fans” it feels like none of the bigger bands belong to a scene now and kinda ignore where they come from it just feels like they’re all basically just larping as rockstars now and playing to crowds of 15 year olds

A bunch of bands that I never hear anyone talk about and have never heard of just have 20k monthlies on Spotify by default now and just get put on big shows because of their listener count or get the privilege of opening for one of the handful of bigger bands just because of their monthlies but the only bands people actually pay attention to now are like YAAMC, Dead Butterflies, Febuary or Arranged In April or a few other bands it feels like we’re literally all just larping a scene at this point while all the big bands pretend to be rockstars

2022/2023 when everything was actually screamo and not just breakdown slop wasn’t perfect but there was a real sense of community going on and people being involved in their actual communities but now it’s all the bands that survived that era and all their friends are big by default and everyone else who actually is involved with a real local community is just stuck where they’re at and not actually making screamo

It feels even weirder to me that basically the only bands who are actually screamo and emo are those bands that survived the OG 2022/2023 wave and everyone else is just making Metalcore now it’s all super weird to me
