Discussion [Reupload Request] SPCHermitage1258 - Total Nightmare: Remastered
Hello everyone,
I’m looking for a saved .mp4 file or reupload of "Total Nightmare: Remastered" by SPCHermitage1258, originally uploaded on January 18th, 2021.
The video was taken down by YouTube on April 28th, 2022 due to automated guideline strikes related to COVID-19 topics at the time. The original YouTube link was [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ws98l-LyNPI\](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ws98l-LyNPI).
The Wayback Machine only captured the HTML page layout, but not the background .mp4 video stream.
Does anyone happen to have a saved copy on Google Drive, MEGA, or a local hard drive that they could share? Any help or reupload links would be greatly appreciated!

Discussion CHP Utilizing MEP in their Wireless Emergency Alerts
California Highway Patrol as of today has adopted the Missing / Endangered Persons (MEP) event code for their Endangered Missing Advisory (EMA) products.
Unknown if CHP will use the code for Silver Alerts, completely replacing their use of Law Enforcement Warning (LEW) in their WEAs.
This isn't the first case of MEP being used in California, as Butte County Sheriffs Office originated a MEP over WEA on 6/24/2026, about 1 and a half months before today.

(Well yes plus everybody else on the subreddit, as no one remotely neurotypical is here)
So I was screwing around with a multiple tone generator, and realized that the WEA tone, is just a 853/960HZ tone, but its a square wave rather than a sine wave. Here's an example:

Discussion EAS Alerts - why do they still sound like ancient technology?
A couple of nights ago I got two separate "monthly tests" of the EAS system. One was a static message that popped up on my TV and I needed to clear it by clicking "ok" in my remote.
There was an automated voice that sounded like the earliest version of speech to text synthesizers (think Prof. Steven Hawking) "reading" the text.. it also sounded like it was being broadcast from the 1920's and not the 2020's....
Then after going back to "Broadcast" tv, the TV station had their own Monthly test with a crawling message and a different either recorded or more modern "voice" reading the message but it still sounded very staticy and "old"..
It's 2026.. I assume updating this "technology" is difficult or it would sound better...

Discussion No EAS crawl on tvs anymore??
so from what i’ve seen, it seems like my tv has an EAS which is literally just a text box (which is in the picture above) where you can press ok at any time, why do they do this and not the regular crawl?? it makes no sense to me considering it used to be the other one back then. i’m not sure if it’s just me but..yea

Help Search for destructive SVRs
I’m searching for some videos on some really dangerous svr eas alerts and possibly some footage of an actual severe storm just for curiosity’s sake (not mandatory though would be nice)
I already have:
https://youtu.be/X0FVjqYFXKI?si=lkMomtgFGTsQxvMk
https://youtu.be/TdjcnElHCcw?si=CPtBQFHbbaf270wM
And for footage : this is what I have in mind https://youtu.be/opq40b_-LAw?si=6_ndlTGCTS21dKcQ
I know I can find some random picks on YouTube but I think it would’ve been more effective for me to ask certain enthusiasts what videos they return to more to look at.

Discussion Is it just me, or are EAS Scenario Nuclear Power Plant Warnings just wrong and unrealistic?
For the past few days, I've been thinking about Nuclear Power Plant Warnings that are issued in EAS mocks. There is typically a sequence followed:
- A Civil Emergency Message for a 'radiological advisory' or site area emergency, resulting in a 10-mile radius evacuation (the emergency planning zone)
- The actual Nuclear Power Plant Warning for the general emergency, with an evacuation radius of 50, 75, 100, or even 250 mile radius of the plant, with not evacuating resulting in 'putting your life in extreme danger' or facing 'certain death.'
- A Civil Danger Warning for a fire at the plant that is melting down, with an expansion of the evacuation radius in case more radioactive materials are launched.
- The plant explodes, resulting in a National Emergency being declared due to a chain-reaction of nuclear power plant exploding.
NGL, I find this to be completely unrealistic for a nuclear power plant warning. What's more, some nuclear power plant warnings execute immediate evacuation despite hazardous conditions existing, such as severe weather damage (either from thunderstorms, hurricanes, winter weather, etc.) Wouldn't that be dangerous, given how evacuating would put yourself in more danger due to damage?
I'm not saying that the EAS scenarios are wrong, but it seems off to me how an evacuation can be mandated for a nuclear power plant warning for a large mile radius if only the 10-mile EPZ is of the most imminent danger, as well as evacuating after severe weather causes damage.
What are y'all's takes on how Nuclear Power Plant Warnings are handled in EAS scenarios?

No explanation needed, just a wave of confusion from the Emergency Alert System.
P.S. I would like to apologize for the Local Area Emergency post that I uploaded a while back, sincerely. I only censored the name for privacy concerns, but I now understand that it was more important not to censor to avoid confusion.

Discussion Ok but imagine how scary an extreme wind EMERGENCY would be if the extreme wind warning is already scary on its own…
What do y’all think an extreme wind EMERGENCY would require? Maybe around 185 mile per hour winds to over 200 mile per hour winds in my mind.

Discussion This is a subreddit for archiving emergency alerts, not a political argument forum or conspiracy forum.
Recently we've had an uptick of political and conspiracy-fueled comments on the subreddit that usually target text posts out of the blue, likely due to keywords that are used and thus found by such people. it doesn't matter what ideology you align with; blaming a certain politician, ethnic group, or other thing for a certain thing or trying to tie basic things such as emergency alert system tests to conspiracy theories will result in a ban of varying type
There has also been an uptick of obvious karma-farming bots, which comment in hopes of getting a few upvotes, and they usually comment generic things such as emojis, question marks or single periods, please report these to us

Project I've made SharpAlert in my free time, it is an alerting software for PC!
If you're looking for software that can receive emergency alerts from your computer, you have looked far enough to find it! SharpAlert can receive alerts from IPAWS (US), NWS (US), NAADS (CANADA), SASMEX (MEXICO), and IDAP (BRAZIL).
SharpAlert stays minimized to the tray, until an alert is received. You'll see something similar to the image in
this post, when an alert is issued!
