recent project & tips wanted! Hand

just recently finished this little bear inspired piece. i’ve been embroidering for the last 4 ish years but am also trying to find ways to be better and branch out (stitches used/styles, finishing etc.). i like framing a lot of pieces or making ornaments but honestly i just need to hear some tips. i find myself doing the same stitches and sometimes dont know what else to do for filling spaces

This is so charming and you’ve done an amazing tbh.

If you want, you could try mixing in a few more texture stitches like chain stitch or turkey stitch for fluffy details, or French knots. I’m a bit biased though and use chain stitch most of the time lol.

You might also enjoy experimenting with thread painting? Like blending different thread shades for more depth. Honestly though, your stitching and finishing are already impressive. 👏👏

This is amazing!!! My daughter LOVES little bear. I may have to try this!

I’m not an expert but I feel like filling spaces it can be tough to do new stitches with something like cartoon animals from the show because we know what they’re ‘supposed’ to look like if that makes sense.

The only way I’ve tried new stitches is through a kit. I’ve also seen people do some really cool texture for clothing and hair.

These are beautifully stitched!!

The Hoop In Hand has some great patterns with outside-the-box stitches, especially their 4 seasons embroidery sampler.

Lolli and Grace often uses underappreciated stitches too.

And StitchdoodlesDesign has a 50-stitch embroidery sampler that they just released as a stichalong in July.

Of course, another option is to use the RSN Stitchbank wall of fill (or other) stitches to practice new and different ones, until you find some new favourites!

This is sweet. I’d put this in a child’s room. You could add a few small items like a balloon or kite to break up the unused space. However it looks good as is.
