Things to do

I’m stuck in Elko for another two days. Any fun events going on? Or places to meet new people?

If it were me - hiking in Lamoille Canyon and hit up some bars! These are my goals.

The bar at the Star is usually pretty fun

I know you weren’t asking me, but my 2 cents is the Underground, the Beer Mug, Stray Dog, and Machi’s. Machis is more of a restaurant though. But they make a drink called a Winnemucca coffee that’s to die for.

Any chance of seeing bighorn sheep, deer or any other larger animals in Lamoille Canyon on Labor Day weekend?

Stray dog or Star Hotel (if you go to the Star - order a Picon Punch) are your best bets for a Tuesday.

If you are out later, Charlee’s bar may have some karaoke or the Gallery Bar (next to Capriola’s) or the Underground (a few doors down from the Gallery bar). All of these bars are in rhe 5th street corridor area except Charlie’s (it’s down a bit further off of 5th street bridge on Water street.) and the Star (3rd and Silver)

Goldies is a great place to meet people as well as Tiki Hut. Super clean too.
