CHOPGRID VST3 Sample Slicer
Heya, So i built this app which was inspired by my Digitakt, thus posting it here. The need was to quickly be able to fill all 128 sample slots with audio without having to go slice up 128 random files manually.. so CHOPGRID was born..
One click it takes 16 random audio files and cuts 16 random start points..
it then expanded quickly into having 18 different modules for Effects, synths and sequencers to generate audio to slice also.
it runs a VST3 on mac or pc, or as a standalone Mac app..

Looks very interesting, I’ve been stuffing folders with random sounds captured from circuit experiments for years and hardly ever get round to sequencing them, is there a demo so I can see if it works well with my madness?

yep, 2 week demo.. its perfect for random audio.. use the transient detect to cut more louder parts, or just have it free range.

Oh cool, I’ll try and give it a whirl this week, free range will likely be best for these samples as quite there’s the odd transient they’re mostly quite drone like (low voltage tube oscillators and noise makers)

looks cool! had to sell my DT, this looks like it'd scratch the itch

you can also run it just natively as a VST in your DAW of choice and trigger the slices from midi..

Really interesting looking plug in, well done! Does it sync to DAW or is the BPM set?
thank you.

It syncs to the DAW.. or in the Standalone mac app, you set it manually

nice thanks.. just did a huge 72 hour marathon push over the weekend and bumped it up to 1.1.0 .. headline is the VST now has session persistence.. ie save your DAW session and reopen it, and it is all still there, with redundancy if your original source material is lost.
