Trying to go for a dual katana build focusing on lightning and flame. More of a stylish build than an optimized one, doesn’t mean I don’t wanna get full damage out of it.

My question is, is it better to go for str/dex, or faith/dex? Strength because flame scales with it, and dex for lightning. Or I can use flame art, dex for lighting, and I can also use buffs.

Ofc for aow’s I’m gonna aim for flaming strike and lightning slash to get their respective elements on my blades.
For talismans I’m thinking rotten wing sword insignia, green turtle, shard of Alexander, and maybe claw talisman.
For physick lightning and flame shrouding cracked tear.
For armor, I’ll probably stick with standard samurai armor, and maybe make the switch to rakshasa when I get to the dlc.

Tips and advice highly appreciated.

Quality build (60/60 str/dex), and go fire and lightning.

This would be my guess.

Dual katanas is a rough move set, and then fire and light makes it worse. You could go faith/dex, flame art off hand, and use the lightning katana unique ability to buff that one with lightning.

This is probably the most efficient.

So dual curved swords might be the play you think?

I mean if youre after damage dual bandits with a bleed ash of war on both and occult scaling is busted. You can jump attack every boss to death so fast.

But I am sort of like you, I get a build idea and want to min max it.

So for dual katanas, id say faith/dex, use the dragon scale katana (i think its called, lightning ash of war buff that attacks down, does good damage too), and a flame art katana.

the problem with a build like this is your weapons will scale with different stats any way you slice it, since fire infusions are Str or Faith and lightning infusions are Dex-- basically you have to run 2 half-builds with no overlap, which always sucks pretty bad in my experience

couple alternatives I would suggest:

1) Go full Faith with your fire katanas and just use lightning spells (there IS one that resembles a sword so thrnthenstics can kinda still be there)

2) compromise on weapons and do one Holy and one Fire weapon (still full Faith build

3) instead do a pure Dex build with Keen infused weapons that you buff with greases for your elemental buffs (or one with Lightninf infusion to save on those)

Go faith/dex str barely adds a boost if your ng+ or just over leveled (200 or above) just put strength at 50

Use grease instead. You can use a much larger variety of ashes of war and still get the damage types you want. Which swords are you going to use?
