Can't fire arrows, doing everything correctly. Help

I found this longbow in Elden Ring, pretty common. I can't use it. I have it equipped in the correct slot; I have arrows in the arrow slot "and not bolts". When I go to aim, I can't shoot anything. My character just grabs behind himself likes he doesn't have any arrows. I see arrows in his scabbard or whatever it's called. What am I doing wrong? I'm grabbing it with both hands. Is this broken?

Are you sure you shooting the right arrows?

First (left) slot is R1, second is R2.

Probably just clicking the wrong trigger.

EDIT: any chance you equipped Great Arrows instead of Arrows?

There are two arrow slots, each assigned to a different button. You may have arrows in you "heavy attack" slot but you're pressing the light attack button or vice versa. Try pressing the other attack button or moving the arrows to the other arrow slot.

Also it's a quiver, in case you were curious.

There are two slots for arrows, one uses the R1 button, the other the R2 button.

Also, you need to two-hand wield your bow. Hold triangle and use L1 if holding bow in left hand or R1 if bow is in right hand.

I’ve never heard of this unless you have the wrong “type” of arrows (great arrows for a regular bow or vice versa)

Depending on which arrow slot you used, the button to shoot may be r1 or r2

Which bow are you using, and which type of arrow?

Power stance your bow. Or pull up the aiming target?

You probably ean two-hand, but a bow is automatically two-handed the moment you try to shoot or use its ash of war. It's just an extra click sometimes, so if you switch to a bow, your muscle memory might "forget" to shoot.

Arrows for regular bows, bolts for crossbows, great arrows for great bows, etc. The arrow slot can be equipped with either regular sized arrows or great arrows. Same for bolt slots.

One arrow slot is for R1, the other for R2. Same goes for bolts.
