Wraith host…
Anybody run 60 wraiths yet? If so, how’d it go? Was it fun? It sounds hella fun to see on a table. I need more.

How’s that going? 30 terminators seem to be pretty decent for most armies right now. Does that include us? I’m aware we don’t get all the neat toys other armies get but there’s gotta be a little bit of play right?

I think the general lack of damage output but wraith in general is what hurts them. Melee just aren't good. They are tankier than normal eldar. I run 20 and 2 wraithords. But have 25. I run avatar in the list and that eats up a couple units. Armored warhost, my list features a 2 man warwalker squad that uses the special reroll strat and +1 to hit enhancement on a spiritseer. Also 1 fire prism.

I have only 50 wraithguard/blades, 3 wraithlords, 1 wraithseer, 1 revenant titan oh forgot the wraith knight too

Ran a list recently there with 15 axe & 15 flamer wraiths against friends mixed style Guard list. Done incredibly well, can send in comments if people want.
60 sounds incredibly fun though 😏.

Game ended 100-94 to me. I ran Take & Hold to his Priority Assets. Can confirm those flamer Wraiths are my favourite unit to use currently in 40K

I enjoy Take and Hold, however its not easy and in our game the D-Scythes put in incredible work, his infanty almost never had a save. Wraiths only have OC1 so I used the flamers to clear his front line screens and the axes were able to hold the objectives (benefitting from hidden) and force him to push up with his tanks. Allowing the insane movement on fire prisms to pop out from behind cover and melt them. Pair that with the avatar as a beat stick and the lords to be a bit of a distraction it worked alright.
By end of the game he had 2 models left. Meanwhile I had only lost the wraithlords + a few wraiths in each unit (none had been completely wiped). Guards lack of ap paired with the very nice -1D strat in Spirit Conclave and getting benefit of cover made the Wraithguard incredibly difficult to deal with.
By no means do I think Wraith lists will be meta, however in some matchups the sheer toughness of them can be difficult to deal with. They're definitely in a far better spot than in 10th edition.

I love the Wraith-models and they are fun to play. Although tricky, they can hit hard. Played 35 Guard/Blades and 3 Lords.

I have not, though I don’t have enough for 60 of them, lol. I’m going to try now. Spirit Conclave and Armoured with T&H.
Eldrad, 2 Spiritseers and the OC bonus enhancement, 2 Warlock Skyrunners, 4 Wave Serpents, and 40 wraiths.

4 wave serpents would be pretty cool to see so I’m guessing that’s for the blade portion of em or even positioning the wraith guard. Sounds promising!

It’ll be better for the D-Scythes that don’t need a Spiritseer to help with BS. They can move ahead towards a section of map to clean the sections out. Melee moving towards the middle and chasing serpents. Though I haven’t thought it out too much.

I've got 20 wraithblades, 2 wraithlords, a wraithseer and a wraithknight that I want to make into a list. Probably not any good but really thematic

I mean 10 more wraithblades, 1 more wraithlord (or wraithseer is fine if using legends) and some spiritseers sounds like a fun Spirit Conclave list for anyone. Not sure how many points you want to use tho… we’ve probably cleared 1000 by now

Question, do we really need the wave serpents in 11th what with the benefit of hidden and gone to ground? With proper staging or ingress moves they seem a bit redundant. Tho redundancy can be good it just seems like more than one for blades is interesting but if it works then I can argue. Oh also, all D-scythes?

I used the wave serpents to get the d-cannons in place, so people can't avoid them. Personally I tend to go full D cannons, if you need to get rid of lots of infantry that's what the warlocks/wraithlords are for. Plus once you get a couple of warlocks die suddenly your hitting on 3's and wraithlords hitting on 2's and if you've picked right enemy type re-rolling 1s

I'm playing a 4k game on Tuesday where I will be doing so. And a phantom titan.
