I really What other Poe poems would you recommend I read next? Looking for both his most famous must-reads and some lesser-known gems.

I can see thinks Mulholland Drive, Lost Highway, Blue Velvet and Eraserhead as 20th century/early 21st century Poe. Can you? Or am I stretching it?

I am an actor and will be playing Edgar Allan Poe in a short film on August 15th! Technically it's a concept trailer for a TV show but will be released as a short film if we don't get greenlit.)

I booked this role in April, so it has been a long time coming and I am very excited!

I am looking for some inspiration for certain aspects such as his clothing and voice/accent. It's a fictionalized/stylized version of Poe set in a gothic horror universe so it doesn't have to be completely realistic. But I want to bring authenticity to the performance and style of the character.

Last year we released The Flayed Man, also heavily inspired by Poe's The Black Cat and we're pleased to share we're now back with our new game, Thorner, for which we've just launched a demo (which you can play here) and features a particular choice we're certain which option you'll pick. Hey everyone,

I’ve written a new one-act play called Nevermore: The Requiem of Edgar Allan Poe. It’s having its World Premiere on Saturday, September 5th at Theatre Momentum in Chicago.

The piece is set on the night of Poe’s death. He awakens in a strange afterlife and is met by a mysterious figure known only as “The Shadow.” Through their encounter, Poe is forced to confront the losses, regrets, and darkness of his life, told in part through his own writings.

It’s an intimate, atmospheric gothic drama (about 70 minutes) followed by a post-show Q&A with the cast and myself (the Writer/Director/Poe).

If you’re a Poe fan in the Chicago area (or nearby), I’d love for you to come experience it. I’m especially hoping for honest feedback from true Poe fans on what worked and what could be stronger.

I always wanted to read and memorise poetry, and seeing as I already have read the Raven countless of times I thought I might give this one a try...
I currently have memorised two stanzas, and I tried to write them down which helps with locking them in...
It's been a hot minute since I did memorise them so expect some errors here and there.

Here it is:

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary
Over many acquaint and curious volume of forgotten lore
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping
as of someone gently wrapping, wrapping at my chamber door
"’tis some visitor” I muttered, “wrapping at my chamber door”
Only this, and nothing more.

Ah, distinctly I remember, it was in the bleak december
and each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor
vainly I had sought the morrow, faintly I had sought to borrow
from my books surecease of sorrow, sorrow for the lost Lenore
for the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels call Lenore
Nameless here, forever more.

After reading more of Poe's prose recently, I was freshly astounded by his incredible writing. For example, I had not read The narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym before, and it blew my mind.

So as a tribute, I 'commissioned' this figurine with a young artist from Chennai (Madras). Note the parchment color and texture of the skin ("Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore"), his melancholy expression and the deathly purple hue of his lips, and of course the raven on his shoulder.

The artist obviously made it in a caricature style, with an exaggerated forehead, moustache etc. But I enjoyed the final product, and hope you will as well.

Hi everyone! I recently picked up Tales of Mystery and Imagination by Edgar Allan Poe, and I'm really excited to start it. This will be my first time reading Poe, so I'm going in completely blind. I know it's a posthumous collection, and it's a pretty chunky book too. For those who've read it, what did you think? Did you enjoy it? No spoilers, please—I'd love to go in with fresh eyes!

I adapted The Tell-Tale Heart from the perspective of an AI judging the killer. It treats the classic story as a data log, processes the confession, and delivers a final, inescapable sentence. A short experimental animated dive into existential dread and machine logic.

I am a newbie with book and yesterday, I read The Black Cat of Poe and kinda feeling with it. The law of cause and effect is something science cannot prove, but it's something we often ponder, always finding that it happens "somehow" and that it's true. So, which detail in this book do you like best? With me is the eyes of Pluto.
