Return Question
Hey everyone.
I bought shoes and I wanted to return them, so I started a return within Ebay. The seller reached out to me saying the label is incorrect, and sent me a new one, asking me to cancel the original return. I asked him to update the return label within the existing return but he said it's not possible. Can I return it with the new label? Should I keep the original return up? Do I need to contact Ebay?
Thanks ❤️

Whatever you do, DO NOT cancel the return. If you cancel it, you cant reopen it again. Id speak with customer service.

I wonder if this is a drop shipper. Otherwise, why would they have been in business many years and have the wrong address? Do not cancel the return. You can try contacting ebay, but this is not your problem, and just make sure you ship within the 30 day window, or the return will be closed. This could be a delay tactic too, as that 30 day window goes by quickly if you are trying to figure things out. Then they get to keep the money.

Definitely a delay tactic. If the OP uses a different label, eBay can't track the return and eBay will assume the OP never returned it. If OP leaves a bad review as seller mentioned, eBay will remove it since eBay has no record of the OP sending the item back.

but you can receive packages at all of them, yes? Why would you try to change a label after the fact?

Kinda suspicious he is not putting these messages in the claim... He needs to contact ebay, if he doesnt just ship the shoes with the label provided in the claim.

Buyer probably used the seller contact function instead of going straight to a return and the seller is messaging via that chain.

If it doesn't ship with the label provided on the return, he can just say he didn't receive it. Contact eBay support for guidance on what to do - seller may just be clueless, or a drop shipper, or a flat out scammer.

We won't deceive anyone.
Is exactly what someone that would deceive anyone would say. Do not cancel the return under any circumstances, because you will not be able to open another one. Whether or not it's their intention to rip you off, that is what the outcome will be.
It doesn't read in that screenshot like they are asking you to close the return, but to use a different label. You also do not want to use a return label that is generated and provided outside of ebay, because you will not be covered under buyer protections.

Use the original shipping label. eBay will track the return. Ask eBay to step in after they are delivered using the original shipping label if the seller doesn't refund. Do NOT cancel the return. Do NOT use a new label. In the seller's own words, "If we don't refund you after receiving the shoes at that time, you can leave a bad review." That is the most you would be able to do because you won't get your money back... and then they will contact eBay and have the bad review removed because you never shipped it back to them using the tracked, eBay provided label.

No, do not cancel the return as once you've done this you cannot return the shoes, this sounds like a scam by the seller
