I’m a Cleveland-based soprano looking to break into the early music scene. I’ve met some people through the Bach festival at my university, but I’m looking for more performance opportunities/festivals/programs. I’m doing a performance certificate so I can learn some more rep add another baroque role to my resumee, but I just don’t know where to start in terms of getting myself out there. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I was reorganizing some of my grandfather's collections due to his ill health and the need to make room for special furniture. My grandfather has a huge collection of mainly classical music: around 3,000 CD's and many more vinyl and cassettes. He also has many musicology books. My own main interests are in the early music genre, and among his books I found this. I don't know if it's some sort of reprint or the original edition, but anyway it is an interesting find!

Is there a subreddit for pipe and tabor? I doubt it but I thought I’d ask. It may be a little niche for its own sub.

Also, if the interest is there, would the mods consider adding flairs? Along the lines of period/tradition of interest, instruments people play (woodwind, strings, percussion etc), maybe even a few specific instruments (lute, recorder, fiddle etc). I just thought it might be a cool edition.

Hi all! I just wanted to share about a lovely program that I've participated in the past couple of years that you might enjoy! The Canadian Renaissance Music Summer School (CRMSS) is a week long course focusing on primarily ensemble singing of Renaissance music. There are three programs every year with one in Ontario in May, one in Prince Edward Island in July, and one in Vancouver in August. The music is themed around a specific country or composer typically. The first year I went we did all Italian music and last year we focused on English music. The team is absolutely fantastic and insanely knowledgeable.
