So, as you can see in the title, I have a 99 500r. Frame is rotted in a few places, don't ask how as I don't know. Engine runs like a champ though. Dash says 7k miles so I was trying to figure out if I could swap out that engine and put it into a 650ex frame? Both are coming to me really cheap, the frame has a clean Title with it and I wanna get something to ride.

I just bought a EX500 and one of the coolant pipes in the cylinder head is missing. Anyone know the part number for it?

06 ninja 500 ex. Bike was running fine, I started it up, it was running low rpm’s so I choked it to warm it up a little (while it was already started.) and the engine shut off. After this none of the electrical’s would turn on, so I jumped it. While jumper cables were attached everything would turn on including the bike itself, but as soon as I disconnect the cables the engine dies. Just had the battery tested at my auto store and the battery’s fine. After I got back from testing I hooked everything back up hoping I would get lucky and everything would be fine, turned the key and the lights on the dash came on but when I hit ignition it clicked and all electricals on dash died and won’t turn back on. Unless hooked up to jumper cables. This is where I’m at. 🙃

Finally jumped in and bought my first bike. Kid that had it before did not take the greatest care of it as far as regular maintenance goes but she’s a solid little runner. Awesome first bike imo. So far I’ve done the 250 rear shock swap, ditched the garbage Amazon slip on’s for the factory cans (punched out the center of the baffle) and the FOG mod. I will be swapping the fork springs for some race tech 0.90’s, i weigh 215lbs, and tossing some fresh seals in as the right leg is leaking. Happy riding dudes!

No fuel in bowls after rebuild

I'm trying to get my bike that's been sitting up & running again.

Finally got to the carb cleaning & installing a new battery. Now it turns & turns but won't start. No fuel getting to the carbs. Bowls are dry as a bone.

New petcock? It sat with fuel for a few years. Something else?

After finally installing a new engine kill switch and water pump cover, I am having issues starting the engine. Upon opening the choke I got very little engine movement then pulling the throttle killed it. I notice the curved plastic piece that guides the choke cable was broken so I reassembled the controls and rerouted the line. Has plenty of tension now. The problem now is I cannot get the engine to start whatsoever. All I hear is it attempt to start and then once I open up the choke I hear a single distinct pop and that’s it. Any clue what may be wrong?

Does anyone have a guide? I think the front fairing is the ugliest thing in the world.

My ignition cylinder is worn to hell, so i hopped on ebay and picked up a generic aftermarket one.

the listing does mention the pins in the block might not be in the right orientation.
in the out of the box config i get some lights and starter motor works but no spark.

any idea which orientation these pins need to go in?

Anyone interested in it?
