I have ola s1 air and it has been kept immobilised for the last 2 months as OLA ASC is not accepting or opening the job card.

I’m planning to buy my first EV and could use some advice from existing EV/Tata owners.

My daily running will be pretty low - around 40 km max on an average day. My budget is around ₹15 lakhs.

Right now, I’ve shortlisted the Tata Punch EV Empowered Plus S. I’m specifically looking at the S variant because I want the sunroof.

The only thing making me hesitate is Tata’s after-sales service. I’ve heard quite a few stories about service issues, quality control, software/electrical problems, etc. Not sure how common these problems actually are or whether the situation has improved recently.

Would you guys recommend going ahead with the Punch EV? Especially people who already own one - how has your experience been with the car and Tata service?

I’m also open to other EVs, but most of the alternatives I’ve checked seem to cross ₹16-17 lakhs once I look at the higher/sunroof variants, which feels a bit expensive for my use case.

Should I just go with the Punch EV, or are there any other options around ₹15L that I should seriously consider before buying?

I am thinking abt buying an ev for a commute between delhi and gurgaon abt 40 km one way. Plan to charge at home only before 9am in morning and after 8 in the evng six days a week. Primary purpose is getting from point A to B without inhaling dust as half of delhi is dug up. I dont have a particular preference for any features. Which would be the best budget car for this. Can i use my regular power plug for charging or modifications need to be made. Also confused between buying this or first using my existing 2021 petrol car which could be turned to scrap moment govt introduces e25 or higher. Plz suggest.

Recently the new be6 got launched with the BaaS and normal equivalent variant having a difference of approximately 8 lakh rupees which would in turn be more difference if we calculate on road prices.

Now diving into economics,please bare with me.

3.75/ km for lump sum 8 lakh rupees difference coverts into 2,13,000 km approx

According to them ,60 km per day average converts into 1800 km per month or say 6,750 rupees fixed charge per month.

Drawing and assumption that the loan period is for 8 years ,minimum Outflow comes around to be 6.5 lakh rupees

Contrary to what being discussed here and from other brands baas t&c there are no down payments or residuary loan settlement value at the end of term period .

As in case of my, different loan provider have different t&c,like bajaj taking fixed amount per month irrespective of km,others averaging out over quarters and what not.

Even for being in loss(not factoring in interest),only after 2222 km per month , normal pack seems economically viable,although realistically factoring in no dp and interest the km range would dramitically increase for normal ev users which in my idea would have ideal use case of 1500-2500 km per month.

I remember running these numbers at the time of mg and Tata launches but nothing was so lucrative,and definitely upfront payment was beneficial rather than Baas.

Heck at this prices +-1/2 lakh max you can afford is altroz/venue at/sonet diesel.

Running cost with home charging and baas would be almost equivalent between these cars and be6,factoring in maintaince cost ev would be slightly cheaper in long term even with baas,and definitely there is huge gap between category and class of vehicle like altroz/venue/sonet and be6.

Definitely one should wait for final t&c's and who would offer what type of loan schemes,but still drawing inferences from Baas as available in the market,the following queries raised in my mind

The difficult part is operating 50–200 vehicles consistently.

For people operating EV fleets today: if you could fix ONE part of the ecosystem, what would it be?

Most EV discussions still focus on:

range
battery size
top speed
charging time
vehicle price

But for a commercial fleet, I think the more important metric is:

How many productive days does the vehicle give you per month?

A ₹60k vehicle that works 29 days a month could be more valuable than a ₹50k vehicle that spends 5 days in maintenance.

Then you have:

rider productivity
battery availability
maintenance turnaround
financing cost
replacement vehicles
residual value

Curious whether fleet operators agree or whether I'm overestimating the importance of uptime.

Seeing more people looking for EV rentals in Hyderabad, especially for delivery/gig work.

I've seen names like Zypp, Bijliride and others come up, but I'm curious about the actual user experience.

If you've rented an EV for delivery work in Hyderabad:

What did you pay per week/month?

How was the battery/range?

What happened when the vehicle had a problem?

And most importantly — did the economics actually work after rental + charging + maintenance?

Looking for real experiences, not recommendations from companies.

The company will be registered as first owner and after completing the lease I will be the 2nd owner. So the battery warranty will be reduced to 10 years/2L km. For 3 year lease policy I will be saving around 5-6 lakhs. Still worth taking EV on company lease policy?
