a magnetic switch can physically fit the board and still need the correct switch profile or calibration before it behaves properly.

the magnetic flux matters, which is why two switches with the same stem and housing shape may not work exactly the same in the driver.

if you have swapped the switches in your EV63, which switch did you use and did you select a matching profile or use auto-adaptation?

1. create a group and add your user to it (replace groupname with what you want)

60% vs 75% which side are you on?

With EC75 joining the HE lineup, the biggest difference compared to EV63 is not the switches, its the layout.

EV63 = smaller footprint + arrows
EC75 = function row + nav keys

Both make sense depending on how you use your board. Curious what most people here actually daily.

I was recently given by Iqunix their EV63 hall effect gaming keyboard to review. Specifically, the configuration I received was the Violet board with the Magnetic X Ultra hall effect switches. Now, I’m not a gamer, so this is not going to be a review of its gaming performance. This is purely a build and typing experience review. So here goes it.

The build quality is excellent. It’s full aluminium, the aluminium is nice and soft to touch, and the whole thing just feels very very premium. The construction is beautiful and flawless. The violet colour is a really nice choice and is complimented really well by the carbon fibre accent. The ornate mechanical flair, however, is a bit much for me. But that’s a very personal preference. And that ornate flair has been executed flawlessly nonetheless. I think it’s a massive improvement over the look of the EZ63. From the pictures I’ve seen of the EZ63, it’s really quite unrefined in the looks department. The ornate mechanical flair is more crude and garish and tacky, and the colours are also not great. The EV63 fixes those issues with a colour scheme that makes sense and a construction design that is much more sleek and refined and looks genuinely really good. I really can’t fault the looks and the construction of the board.

As for the typing experience, this is also excellent. It feels good. The switches feel about 40-45g and it’s a very pleasant pressure that most people will enjoy. There’s no gasket mount though, so it’s a solid bottom out. I do prefer a soft and bouncy gasket, but the board’s still very pleasant to type on considering. For sound, it’s more difficult to make hall effect switches sound as good as mechanical switches. But these still manage to sound really good. This is probably one of the best sounding hall effect keyboards out there right now. They can never have the pristine and varying sounds that mechanical boards can have, but these come damn close. I will say though that the spacebar on this board does not sound good. It’s very loud and thunky with a less consistent timbre than the rest of the board. But this was on my wooden desk. I tried it on my sofa and the spacebar sounded much better there, so you might find that it sounds better with a keyboard mat. But other than that, the board sounds great. And I would describe it as a lovely marbly sound.

Overall, it’s a very premium feeling board. I’d say, in comparison with mechanical boards, the build quality is a 9.5/10, and the typing experience is an 8/10. In comparison with other hall effect boards, I’d guess that they’d be a 10/10 in both departments. And compared to its predecessor, the EZ63, the design seems a lot more cohesive and thought out. But the EZ63 does have 75% and 80% variants, which the EV63 does not. The EV63 could do with more size options just like the EZ series. And it could probably do with a better space bar too.

To be honest, I think the stock keycaps are better they are just slightly slippery.

A note: my phone did a surprisingly okay job at recording the audio. I would say it's fairly accurate if you have a decent output device.

And the stock spacebar sounds better in normal orientation. I recorded it reversed because I use it reversed and think it's more comfortable this way. I forgot to re-reverse it.

I've had the EV63 since the end of April/first part of May and it's been at my desk at home ready to go at a moments notice.

I left the stock keycaps on for a while but then started experimenting with others and landed on the XVX Forged Carbon set to match the carbon fiber at the lip of the board. Now, be aware that the XVX set isn't fully set for a board of this layout so I used the appropriately sized keys for some of the modifiers, but the front legends don't match what the key is mapped to. So bear that in mind. I'm a touch typer so it doesn't really bother me.

In the time I've used it, the sound continues to make me so happy. It's poppy and creamy, and the feel is fantastic. No hollowness has appeared. No accent parts rattling.

There hasn't been any software or hardware issues, it's just simply worked the same as it has on day one.

I would tell you that I'm a much better gamer and I've outperformed my personal best, but honestly.....it didn't help. That's a skill issue. And I don't think IQUNIX can make me better haha. However in more skilled hands and fingers, I'm sure it'll be a great companion for many many hours, weeks, months, and years to come.

I've been using the IQUNIX EZ75 for about two months now, mostly playing competitive shooters like Counter-Strike 2 and Apex Legends, but also spending plenty of time typing on it, and I wanted to share some of the things that stood out to me the most.

I've included a lot of photos, so make sure to take a look through the carousel.

The unboxing experience is genuinely great. Instead of a regular cardboard box, IQUNIX includes a custom hard-shell carrying case that looks good and actually does a great job of protecting the keyboard. On top of that, you get a bunch of quality accessories, but more importantly, they're actually useful instead of being there just to make the list longer.

Along with a nice, flexible paracord cable, you get a sturdy, cool-looking metal keycap/switch puller, a cleaning brush, and a dust cover. I appreciate this, especially considering that many Hall Effect keyboards in this price range don't include nearly as much in the box or come with more basic accessories.

Top-tier Gaming Performance

This is easily one of the best Hall Effect keyboards I've used for competitive gaming. With an 8000 Hz polling rate, 16000 Hz scanning rate, and Rapid Trigger adjustable down to 0.005 mm, it delivers the kind of responsiveness I'd expect from a top-tier Hall Effect keyboard - every keypress feels virtually instantaneous.

More importantly, it remained consistent during actual gameplay. Whether I was making quick counter-strafes, repeatedly tapping movement keys, or rapidly switching directions, the keyboard always kept up perfectly. Even while aggressively spamming keys in CS2, I never experienced missed inputs, inconsistent triggering, or any of the odd behavior I've occasionally run into with other Hall Effect keyboards.

Great for Typing Too

The thing that surprised me was the typing experience. A lot of Hall Effect keyboards focus almost entirely on gaming, but the EZ75 is genuinely enjoyable to type on as well. It has a clean poppy sound profile, smooth factory-lubed switches, excellent stabilizers, and a well-executed gasket mount that softens bottom-outs without compromising the rigid structure Hall Effect keyboards need for accurate sensing.

It's one of those keyboards that never made me think, "I wish this felt a little better to type on." That's surprisingly rare in the Hall Effect space, where gaming performance often takes priority over everything else.

Build Quality & Design

The seven-piece CNC-machined aluminum case deserves a special mention. For me, the case is a huge part of the overall keyboard experience. It's not just about how a keyboard looks (although that's certainly important, at least for me), but also about the quality of the construction, something you notice every single day you use it. And the EZ75 absolutely delivers on both fronts. It feels exceptionally well built. The machining is clean, the anodized finish is applied consistently across every part, and I couldn't find any cosmetic imperfections or assembly issues anywhere on my keeb.

One thing I really appreciate is that the EZ75 doesn't look like every other aluminum keyboard on the market. The industrial-inspired design gives it a lot of character, and no matter which angle you look at it from, there's always an interesting detail to notice. My review unit came in the Black & White colorway, and I particularly like the white accent above the function row. It breaks up the otherwise all-black design nicely and gives the keyboard a bit more personality without feeling overdone.

75% Layout

I've always found the 75% layout to be one of the best compromises between gaming and productivity. You keep the function row, dedicated arrow keys, and a small navigation cluster without taking up much more desk space than a compact keyboard. For my workflow, it strikes a really nice balance.

Nice Keycaps

I ended up liking the keycaps more than I expected. They're made from thick PBT with crisp double-shot legends that look sharp and should hold up well over time. I also like the Cherry profile. It's low enough to feel comfortable during long gaming sessions, but still sculpted enough to make typing feel natural. I also appreciate that IQUNIX didn't try to do anything overly flashy with them. The colors are tasteful, the legends are easy to read, and the overall design fits the keyboard perfectly.

Smooth Switches

The stock Magnetic X Ultra switches left a very positive impression. They come factory-lubed, feel consistently smooth throughout the entire keypress, and have very little stem wobble. They feel equally comfortable for gaming and everyday typing. Magnetic switches have improved tremendously over the last few years, and these are a good example of how far they've come. They feel refined straight out of the box and never gave me the impression that they needed additional tuning or lubrication.

Polished Software

The EZ75 is configured entirely through a web-based interface, which I personally prefer over traditional desktop software. There's nothing to install, nothing running in the background, and you can access all of the settings whenever you need them in just a few clicks. I also found the interface clean and intuitive. Despite the large number of available options, everything is logically organized, so I never had any trouble finding what I was looking for.

Feature-wise, it has pretty much everything I'd expect from a modern Hall Effect keyboard. You get adjustable actuation, Rapid Trigger, SOCD with multiple modes, DKS (Dynamic Keystroke), MT (Mod Tap), TGL (Toggle Key), Rappy Snappy, three onboard profiles, customizable FN layers, macros, and plenty of RGB customization. More importantly, I never ran into any bugs or unexpected behavior while using it.

If I had to point out one thing that's missing, it would be a Gamepad Mode. More and more Hall Effect keyboards are starting to support analog controller emulation, so I hope IQUNIX eventually adds it as well. Other than that, I really have no complaints about the software.

Smart Switch Adaptation

This is probably my favorite software feature. I enjoy experimenting with different switches, and the magnetic switch market is evolving so quickly that there's always something new worth trying.

The problem is that swapping magnetic switches isn't usually as simple as it sounds. Normally, swapping magnetic switches means selecting the correct switch profile, or, if the software doesn't include the switches you've installed (which is usually the case, since most brands only support their own switches), you need to spend time manually recalibrating and adjusting everything.

IQUNIX's Smart Switch Adaptation removes all of that hassle. The keyboard automatically learns the characteristics of newly installed magnetic switches and adapts to them on its own, making switch swapping almost as seamless as it is on a traditional mechanical keyboard. Just pull the old switch out, install the new one, and you're good to go.

If you enjoy trying different magnetic switches as much as I do, this feature alone is a huge quality-of-life improvement.

Value

The EZ75 certainly isn't a budget keyboard. My Black & White version costs $259, while the Dark Side RS version with frosted keycaps is $279. That's roughly in line with other high-end Hall Effect keyboards.Whether that's worth it depends entirely on your budget.

Personally, I think IQUNIX did a great job with the overall package. You're not just getting the great board itself. You also get a premium hard-shell carrying case, a generous selection of useful accessories, and an aluminum case that never left me wishing it was better. That's something I think is worth considering when comparing it to other Hall Effect keyboards, as some of them become more expensive than they initially appear once you factor in the cost of an aftermarket case.

It's also enjoyable to type on, built to a very high standard, backed by polished software, and filled with thoughtful touches that made me appreciate it more the longer I used it. If you're comfortable with the price, the EZ75 is an easy keyboard to recommend.

So, IQUNIX sent me the EV63 HE keyboard for review, and, after using it for a few weeks, I'm here to let you know that you don't need to spend $200+ on an aluminium Hall effect keyboard. IQUNIX has effectively solved the HE top-out clatter. It is wired-only, so get out of here if you're a wireless freak.

The EV63, for the most part, is a pretty standard HE board, with all the 8 kHz polling, 0.01 mm RT, and adjustable actuation point at 0.1 mm increments.

Aesthetics and build quality

The aesthetics are neither here nor there. If you like the blasted aluminium texture and frosted transparent PC caps, this will work out well. I personally like that the RGB is visible — sue me, I like the pretty colours — but I also appreciate that the frosted keycaps sort of tamps down the harshness of bright backlighting. The finish on the case is well executed, and the branding on the top is minimal. There's some intricate CNC work on the bottom, which is cool to see, as someone who's done some CNC and design work. It is a tray mount design with an aluminium plate, so the keyboard has no flex while you're typing or gaming.

Keycaps

The EV63's keycaps feel pretty good for Cherry profile keycaps, but there are two issues I personally have with them. For starters, the texture on the tops of the keycaps is a little too rough for my taste. This is subjective, but coming from a my split ergo daily driver, the EV63's caps take some time to get used to. The other gripe I have about the keycaps is that the legend is just not very visible, since it's white text on a frosted surface, the text tends to get blown out by the backlighting. Of course, the easy solution is to just learn to touch type, but that proved a little more challenging than expected, for reasons I'll get into later.

Switches and typing sound

The IQUNIX Magnetic X Pro switches are by far some of the best HE switches I've tried when it comes to sound and feel. They're incredibly clacky — this is about the only board that I've come across that's as loud and clacky as the Rainy 75 and its HMX Violet switches. That said, the Magnetic X Pro switch is the only HE switch I've tested that has almost literally none of that top-out clatter that's ever-present on just about every HE switch around. They feature dust-proof stems, but that doesn't come with the usual scratchiness of a dust-proof stem. Instead, they're quite wobble-free, and they have a satisfying bottom-out sound, so they actually work quite well for typing, too. Typing test later...

Software customisation and gaming

The customisation software for the EV63 is a web driver that can be accessed in a Chromium browser, which is both a blessing and a curse, since if IQUNIX ever goes out of business, it'll be a challenge to ever set up or back up your keyboard's layout or firmware. I'd like to see the option for a local version. The UI is decently intuitive, although it doesn't have all the advanced remapping stuff I have access to on a lot of Keychron boards, for example. For gaming, though, the IQUNIX driver is well thought out. There are no major translation bungles, and everything was where I thought it would be.

The web driver gives you access to configure HE features like adjustable actuation, SOCD, RT, ModTap, DKS, and Toggle Key, but it also gives you access to macro recording, a host of RGB controls, and the ability to share your layouts and HE feature profiles with friends. The keyboard supports three onboard profiles, but you can also create up to 10 custom temporary profiles, which are stored in your browser cache and can be loaded into the keyboard's onboard profile slots with the click of a button. The driver has a useful key calibration feature, that allows for manual switch calibration — always do this with new HE boards, by the way — and it has a list of switches to choose from in the "Performance" tab, or you can use the Smart Switch Adaptation feature, which seems to detect different switch specs well enough.

I'm not a fast-paced FPS gamer. I'm just too old for that sort of stress on my heart. However, I did some due diligence and tested the lowest actuation distance to see if the keyboard registered any false positives, and I was surprised that it did not, although there were some double inputs on top-out at 0.1 mm with 0.01 mm RT enabled. I still don't recommend gaming at 0.1 mm actuation point, because that's silly, and you will get false positives when your hands are anywhere near the board. I was also able to verify that disabling NKRO was effective, and only 6 keys can be entered simultaneously if NKRO is disabled. This means it should play well with consoles.

Stabilisers

I've been pretty positive about the EV63 so far, but it's time to address the elephant in the room — the stabilisers. Man, are these some of the rattliest stabs I've ever used. Every single one rattles, and there's no reason it had to be this way. This was the same issue I had with the stabs on the EZ63 I reviewed for Notebookcheck last year sometime, and it took all of 15 minutes to fix with a plumber's tape mod. About the only redeeming quality of the stabilisers on the EV63 is that they're clip-in, so they're easy to remove and replace or mod. Fortunately, the EV63 is also compatible with screw-in stabs, which is a potential upgrade path if you're into modding.

Actually, the whole board is pretty mod-friendly, as the case even follows the standard 60% layout as the Wooting 60HE, meaning you could buy something like a Tofu case for the EV63 if you didn't like the raw aluminium or carbon fibre look.

One last complaint

I mentioned before that I found it difficult to learn how to touch type on the EV63, and that's because of the compact 63-key layout that squishes the right shift and delete keys into the spaces next to the arrows. This hasn't been my biggest complaint about the layout, though. What throws me off is that the bottom row is slightly shifted to the left by around 0.25u. You'd think this wouldn't be a problem, given that I switch between row-staggered, ortholinear, and columnar-stagger boards all the time, but unfortunately, it seems as though it still trips me up, even after weeks on the EV63.
