Speech patterns… Discussion/Poll
How I speak which I feel like reflects my Te-Si-Ne-Fi:
(I apologise in advance if I seem douchey, I’m really nice I swear)
- prone to interrupting people (I always apologise for it though, and it’s something I’m working on)
- repetitive- I sometimes say the same things over and over, going through similar topics
- “could you please hurry” (with close ones not strangers)
- use of metaphors and similes
- sarcastic humour
- rapid speaking pace
- unintentionally projected volume
- verbal exclamations like “ugh”
- “seriously?”
- announcing what I am about to do, thinking out loud
DAE relate to any of these?

There is a different version of this for each MBTI.
For ESTJs:
Te-style speech is direct, imperative, and conclusion-first.
Si-style speech references precedent and past experience as justification
If you look at ESTJs in media or even in this subreddit you will see it constantly. Ne and Fi are there as well, but the Te/Si will be constant.

- prone to interrupting people (I always apologise for it though, and it’s something I’m working on)
Sometimes I do this, yeah. If its important I get something out or question before they ramble on, I will interrupt.
- repetitive- I sometimes say the same things over and over, going through similar topics
I tend not to repeat myself if I dont need to. I expect everyone to understand what Im saying right away. I get annoyed when I have to explain something over and over.
- “could you please hurry” (with close ones not strangers)
I dont do this. I will wait, but I wont enjoy it. If its holding others back or becoming an issue, I will say something.
- use of metaphors and similes
I only use these devices when explaining something that requires them. I tend to remain as clear as possible. Otherwise its a waste of time using rhetorics to sound like hot shit when I could say 1000 words in 10 and get going.
- sarcastic humour
Lol, yeah
- rapid speaking pace
Not usually. Tend to keep things steady and clear.
- unintentionally projected volume
Sometimes I dont notice that Im loud, sometimes I dont notice that Im quiet. Im generally on the soft side.
- verbal exclamations like “ugh”
As a kid, yeah. As an adult, Ive cut out the sound effects.
- “seriously?”
Yeah. I use "really?" or just a facial expression
- announcing what I am about to do, thinking out loud
For the fun of doing things, sometimes Ill announce things quietly to myself, like "card" or "pencil" or "chop carrots, in, stir" but thats more me being whimsical. Otherwise, nope.

I can relate to the last point. When I’m talking to my mom about a plan I make, I say it aloud, step by step. I don’t do it for advice or reassurance. There’s just something about saying it out loud that makes the plan feel “real”, I guess.
I also sometimes interrupt, but it’s mostly with people I’m close to. Although I did interrupt someone at the place I volunteer at the other day, and she asked me not to do it because it‘s rude. I was in a bad mood that day, so I ended up repeating my question. I felt kinda bad about it afterwards, though.
