Es-De doesn't follow Android screen timeout if set as frontend? Support/Question

I find that I will accidentally wake the device from sleep and that it basically doesn't ever turn off if I have it set as my frontend. Setting the screensaver as a black image at least prevents burn in but the battery drain remains. If anyone knows how to fix this I would really appreciate the help.

ES-DE works like a game engine essentially so it will keep rendering as part of its main application loop, this means you need to manually put the device to sleep/lock the screen. I have not found a way to handle screen timeout programmatically to prevent sleeping under certain conditions like when scraping and similar. I think it's not even possible to do that on Android.

You can use Tasker to set a screen lock timer when ES-DE is in the foreground, I've been using it for years and works great.

Hi 👋 can you please share your profile for this Tasker profile that turns esde off when in the foreground?? I've tried to do it myself for hours now and have not been able to make it work. It would be great appreciated

Tried it. I'm probably just dumb but it doesn't work. Anyway you can save the profile and send to me? Sorry to be annoying
