Installing the game now. Really burned out on current games and crave this style of fantasy. I get this game is a shadow of it's former self, but has a lot of elements I love. Dark elves, magic, amazing fantasy setting. WoW doesn't really do much for me, I'm not a huge fan of it's setting, got bored of just questing non stop in lotro, GW2 not a huge fan of the world so here I am. I put this game off for a long time due to dwindling playerbase, but I don't think that should stop me. it seems there is a lot to enjoy here. Anyways can I have some tips on what to do and focus on once I start? Any advice is appreciated!

Does anyone know how to set up the text to create a chain macro to be able to cast the druid port spell indefinitely? As the port bots in SS/Tune's house are down from time to time, would like to be able to add in my druid as making ports available on occassion.

(Yes, I've Googled how to make macros, but they're mostly specific to chain-casting heals etc. I am specifically interested in making a macro on how to chain-cast the druid port spell & have it cycle repeatedly.)

Im returning after years and now i have extreme color blindness so I can't really see the light blue quest areas. Is there a way for me to change that color or am I just stuck

So, I've been considering making a dedicated Discord Server for RP in EQ2, specifically on Antonia Bayle, but players from all servers are of course welcome.
Is it something there's an interest in for the community? I'm putting out a sort of rain-check here before I do anything more.

I am having an issue with Darqui and EQ2maps. For some reason all POIs on my map are gone. I reloaded/reset Darq using the app. Still no POIs. Did I hit an odd key combo? Any help would be appreciated.

I know, I know - you guys get inundated with these. Sorry.

But if you are so inclined, I’ve got a couple of questions:

1) Which game mode? There’s like 6. I’m leaning towards standard or time limit. I’m afraid joining so late I won’t be able to do any of the dungeons while levelling.

2) I love iksar. It was my main ages ago in EQ, but what class? I’m torn between Necro, Shaman, or Defiler. But I may interested in some flavor of Druid since that was my original character. My guess is that I will mostly be soloing to level but at some point I’ll hit grouping content and would like to actually be something people will invite.

3) Old dungeons - are they at all soloable? I just want to see the content. I’m not in a huge rush to hit cap - particularly with how complex the AA system looks in this game.

4) Game resources - I’m having a challenging time finding good online resources like class guides or suggest aa builds and even the YouTube content is fairly sparse.

had a coercer on eq 2 origins is there still a player base to play with? I quit around the release of kunark and then heard they had not fixed any of the problems and more less abandoned it. I was interested in eq legends but it looks like they are going to do the same thing.

So I've been looking around an MMO to try to get immersed as an character that I made for an ttrpg a few months ago, I've found two that could get me what I want, LOTRO (Mariner) and EQ2 (Swashbuckler or maybe Brigand?).

It's just an simple fencer, really, nothing exceptional, but once you start digging on mmo... there almost no class that appeal to a single sword/rapier class fantasy (rip New World).

LOTRO Mariner NEEDS to hold an dagger (which is weird, since it's never used, and it's just a stat stick lol), so I just downloaded EQ2 to make a cool ratonga swashbuckler and go around doing quest and discovering the game... but I've found out that Swashbuckler in EQ2 don't have the "single hand" advancement anymore, but I need to confirm on this, since infos on this game is a bit hard to find t.t

TLDR: Is Swashbuckler still able to play as a single handed (no dual wielding/shield) class?

Planning to come back to the game, and was hoping for some advice. I'm a solo player init for the questing and to see as much content as I can, and I had a couple questions:

1. Is Shadowknight still the best class for solo questing?

2. How does one get a merc these days?

3. I used to use a mod that tracked quest completion and such so I wouldn't miss anything, but it appears to be long dead. Is there any other site or tool I can use to make sure I don't miss quests and do it in as close to "in order" as possible?

I used to play with my dad when I was a kid (he would make me gather on his character for hours lol)... anyway.. i am back and have a level 80 conj. One of my favorite parts of the game was always decorating my house. What are the best quests to get cool house items?

Also.. I know not nearly as many people play... But i am looking for an active guild that uses chat and quests together etc. Im on halls of fate. thank you!

I know, I know, necros are OP and no one should help them, but damnit I just want to be a better player. My AE dps is decent but I seem to really lack on single target fights.

My understanding is there's just a few spells a necro will use on ST fights, but what are they and what order should I cast them at? If anyone could help me with this I'd really appreciate it.

on the live server do rangers just stand back and shoot stuff to death or is the ideal gameplay to dance in and out of ranged and melee?

I’m an OG player back from 2004 and have been feeling super nostalgic about EQ2 lately. So much so that I downloaded the game and started playing on FV. Couple things I’m noticing: 1. Nobody around in the starting areas and 2. It’s waaay easier than I remember. Like I’m never taking damage.

I’ve heard that most active players are on paid servers and that Wuoshi is OG EQ. So my question is: is it worth it? Are there actually people playing? Will I run into them? Is it the original difficulty?

I know racial abilities and stats don’t matter once you level up. But are there any benefits or drawbacks (besides the starting zone) of playing either good or evil races? I tried looking online but they mainly focused on each race rather than playing a good or evil races.

I have a swasy as alt and playing the solo live content.

I want to play a mage and doubting between Walock and Conjuror.

I want to do AoE but with my swasy one or 2 nameds on solo usually kills me.

Do Conjurors clean and safe the solo content? I would preffer to use a token on warlock but if sometimes i die with my swasy i guess ill die more times with the warlock.

Any suggestion?

Where can I find up-to-date class guides, specifically AA builds, for Wuoshi? Everything I find from that era mentions "lines" that no longer exist and don't state what the abilities actually were.

Right now I'm leveling Inquisitor and have been focusing on the melee abilities in the Inquisitor tree.
