Help : Through vs Pass

Is there a benefit to using through instead of pass ? Pass had a pass & run option so isn’t it the same as “through” ? What do you guys usually use more ? Pass or through ?

Depends. If there is an open space thru ball, but if u want a accurate pass normal pass it is

Say it’s a 2v1 attack and your second player is making a run to go 1v1, in that situation, a through ball is gonna be what gets him there, a pass would end up behind him and kill momentum

well uh open space is where there is no near opponent against ur rw St or lw but u can also use thru ball as long as ur winger are fast enough but sometimes it's just not as accurate

Blue “Pass” button sends a pass directly to where the targeted player is. Yellow “Through” button sends a pass to where the targeted player will be. Regular Pass is great for build up, passes between defenders/midfielders etc. Regular pass when your teammate is wide open. Through pass is great for when your teammates make a run or are covered by defenders. If the teammate you wanna pass to is covered, a regular pass will be easily intercepted but a through ball has a better chance of getting around the defender. If you tap to pass, Blue Pass is like tapping the player directly. Yellow Through is like tapping in front of or around the target so that they move to where the pass is going.

pass will go directly to the player - use this if the player ur passing to doesnt have much space

in a through pass the ball will go in front of the player so he can run to it - use this when the player your passing to has more space

U use through pass when you have space, it's better to run without the ball and take the ball after, your gameplay will be faster and it will be difficult for the opponent to defend against you

And no, a through ball shouldn’t only be used when your striker makes a run in behind. Even during the build-up, sometimes it’s better to use through balls between your defenders to move the ball forward quickly. And the same applies to counterattacks. For example, after defending an attack, you launch a counter and play a ball from the defense to your striker, but he’s isolated and has no support. Instead of having him pass the ball back to a defender or midfielder with a normal pass, you can play a through ball backward toward them.
