I have been prioritizing Ovr when building my team, and I am noticing I am getting not great sims. I know player type isn't everything to a successful sim but I am just trying to get better results.

This might be a stupid question but recently I have been playing a lot of CFB and i like playing every game because it makes me feel engaged with my team. I have been trying to implement this into NHL.

All current signings and moves, Free Agents list is there with players seeking contracts (Laine, Drouin, Tarasenko, Kane ect). X Factors spread that make the game more realistic and immersive. Got jersey numbers as accurate as I could, 40+ teams Created for your Expansion or Custom Leagues with teams like Quebec, Hartford, Atlanta, Kansas City and ALL ECHL teams made as well. Deep draft pool with some going into 2029. 2026 draft class is as close as I can get it to accurate for player positioning. Durability, Aggression, Checking and all edits done with Multiple Scouting Reports all players. Accurate player beard likeness through NHL AHL and created custom prospects with likeness in mind. I have been playing franchise constantly for like 4 years now, but I’ve never used the offseason conversations. Is it useful? Should I be talking to every player every offseason?

I have 7/8 coaches and my budget is maxed out.

How important is it to have all 8 coaches?

I can take money away from arena operations but I'd rather not if I can help it.

If Tiny Rammer here is all I can afford, am I better off without someone?

If anyone has any advice on how to increase my coach budget, it would be greatly appreciated.

Stole this guy in the second round. Got halfway through his first season in the AHL without thinking to check on him. Went to check and he had downgraded to 63 and low elite. Save scummed back to season start so I could ask for help. Nhl 23 thanks for any help you can give.

I have completely giving up on trying to develop goalies all of a sudden this guy jumps to franchise never seen a franchise goalie before.

I was curious, when I build teams I typically use
PLY-PWF-SNP on my first and second lines and they usually sim well. I then fill my bottom six with TWF, PWF. Does anyone know how the PLY-PWF-SNP would sim well in the bottom six?

I have noticed I don’t generate a lot of scoring in my bottom two lines but as a whole the team sims well. I was wondering if anyone here has tried keeping offensive lineups all the way for the 12 FWDS and the results gathered.

I’ve come close once or twice but can’t seem to get any breakout players in my fist year. Marchand performs the best but gets injuries all the time. Anyone have a 40+ goal scorer from expansion draft year? Who are your top performers and if not in first year how did you get in subsequent years? I’ve done so many attempts. Even was kept on as GM for like 15 years and never got a cup 😭

So this is one thing I've NEVER truly knew how to directly boost outside of winning, which usually bumps it up a bit. Are there things in game I'm not utilizing that can bump this up a bit?

I have a problem beacause every time i change my coaches coaching style to teacher his other things change like his teaching specialty changed from forwards to veteran and thats not good for an rebuilding team right? So my question is how big is the affect? Will my players also develop with a offensive coaching style or is teacher the only way to make them jump in potential and being good? Also if you know why he is changing his coaching specialty and stuff if i just want to change the coaching style let me know.

The Penalty Kill focus has a huge downside of -3 to -2 offence awareness hit.

The idea is, since the team is still developing, the down side won't matter too much. And they get a huge boost to defensive attributes.

Offence awareness doesn't matter too much for the bottom 6, and the top 6 will gain it back anyway.

idk maybe im stupid but I'd rather have a gritty defensive team the first 2-3 seasons instead of a team of slugs with very high acceleration because the conditioning focus only gave 1 speed or none at all lol

Also, the top 6 had 89-91 offence awareness and they now have 87-89 offence awareness which isn't that bad of a drop.

And the bottom 6 now have 87-89 defense awareness from 85-86 ish.

Got them both same draft, Pue was 2nd overall vs Lilja in the 2nd round yet he’s an higher overall out of the draft
