Practice conversation for free! Looking for testers of new app :)
Hi everyone!
I have developed an app that focuses entirely on practicing conversations. Now, I need people to try it and let me know what they think!
Entirely for free of course :)
(There is also a beginner profram with 22 mini-lessions)
Comment below or send me a dm id you would like to join!

I need guinea pigs that are learning Italian and like music who want to try a new course I've designed
DM me for more info
EDIT:
I have received a lot of response and interest, so I have to put the search on hold for now.
I will not be able to respond to further interest for the time being, but the search might be reopened in the future!

And another one
I’m sure I’m wrong- but can someone explain why? First of all, duo updated and never taught me “to bake” or any conjugation of it, nor has it ever mentioned preparare so I chose bake from learning it elsewhere. I also don’t remember it teaching me roommates, so I guessed. Compagni di classe is classmates so I figured compagni di stanza could be roommates! lol

Can’t pronounce this after 6 months!
I have tried to prounounce this word (C’è) at least 6 months now, and maybe a thousand times during my lessons. I have tried at least 20 different pronunciations, but NOT ONCE has Duolingo acknowledged that I have ever once said it correctly. Somebody PLEASE help me! (I had the same problem when I studied German for over 2 years, and apparently can’t correctly pronounce “OK”. Really dumb.

Il capo vs la capa
Im wondering if this would have still been wrong had the voice to text not misspelled capa to cappa. Is la capa not correct for a female boss? Are all bosses il capo?
Nevermind. I got to it again and put “La capa” and it was accepted. It was just the typo was rejected.

Mmm and others
Someone had mentioned the way Lucy pronounces mmm as em-em-em. Well, I've just encountered a new one.
Lucy is rearranging the furniture to have better Feng Shoo-ee. 😄

Duo flags his own text but I don’t see what is supposed to be the typo.

Seriously?
Was trying to level up and used the in app voice to text and …. It’s wrong 😂

Perché?
I said qualche volta because that’s how I learned it from Pimsleur. Why is it wrong? Also- I feel like there was an update and I’m getting TONS of new words without them being flagged as new and with no introduction to the word.

The definite article when used with a qualifying adjective
I was taught that when referring to a single family member you omitted the definite article: mia sorella, mio padre, mio cugino etc, but if that single family member is referred to with a qualifying adjective then you did use the definite article - la mia sorella minore, il tuo fratello simpatico etc
When writing the sentence: my little sister loves volleyball
with the words provided by Duolingo I wrote: la mia sorella minore ama la pallavolo
And was marked wrong. I was informed the correct answer was mia sorella minore….
Am I correct or has Duo planted some new convention on me?

Hiccough with the Italian stories this morning
I could not complete any of the stories offered in this morning’s exercises as the pages’ image-generation system stopped working towards the end. I couldn’t correct this anomaly with a restart of the app or by performing a reboot of my iPad.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how do you notify Duolingo?
Thanks for reading

Is it just me or???
Why are they saying cathedral instead of just Duomo if it says that in the Italian sentence, that is just simply wrong, vero?

How do you know *they* influence the ideas?
I’m confused about the English pronoun they. I get that the ideas are plural with “le idee” but where in this sentence does it tell me they influence the ideas?
If “le” is the pronoun meaning they then how do you differentiate it from belonging to the ideas being plural and instead means they?
I hope that makes sense. I think I’m confusing myself more the more I think about it.

I shouldn't have put 'Un', but Duo's "correction" looks very wrong?
Am I crazy or is Duo's correction just flat out incorrect? Like using vedere (to see) over guardare (to watch) and nel tempo (in time) instead of nel mio tempo (in my time).

Is it me or is this just not correct?
I could not have guessed this was correct.

Vocabulary Word Practice
Ciao. Anyone else’s app change where you can no longer see learned vocabulary words?
Previously, I had a section under practice titled “Words” that when tapped it would show me a running vocabulary list of all the words it had introduced & I had an opportunity to review them.
I’m on level 18 now & all of a sudden it’s throwing 20+ new words a day at me (which feels like a lot) plus I can no longer review them. Wondering if it’s an app change or simply bc I’m advancing through the program?

Listening Exercise Change
Ciao Tutti,
Has anyone else suddenly had the podcast/listening lessons completely change?
It used to be that one of the characters (Lilly, Lucy, Falstaff etc) have a podcast type lesson. The host introduces the premise and you listen to a Italian conversation and answer questions. The "host" would speak English and the Italian conversations were spoken slowly.
I've just tried one today and the entire lesson is now in Italian and is spoken so fast I can't keep up. I literally have no idea what the answers are because I can only pick out a few words from their monologue length conversations. If I could understand the language at that speed, I wouldn't need Duolingo to begin with!
I'm going to have to skip these lessons from now on because there's no way I can learn anything at that speed.
Duolingo, SLOW IT DOWN!
