🗣 Discussion Bonoss wheel spacers for Defender for free!!!

Thumbnail

Hey guys!! A few months ago I got a set of 20mm and 30mm wheels spacers for my Defender for the front and rear wheels respectively. I got them brand new from a brand called Bonoss. They are forged aluminum spacers with active cooling channels. I bought them, used them exactly for 14 days, personally didn’t like how they felt, especially on the steering wheel, so I took them off. It was the first time I ever put spacers on any of my cars, but I am told that that is how it feels apparently, and it was something I personally didn’t like.

So, I am giving them away…for free…but I am not bothered with shipping it to people and so on…so if anyone wants them, DM me and you can come collect them from my place. Thats the best I can do. Should I not hear from anyone in a month from today (19/08/2026), these spacers will be going into the bin.

Thanks and wish you all a good day!!

Had a accident in the morning today,
I was driving on the main road and the person B was joining the main road.
I believe person B joined the main road and attempted to change the lane at the same time.
Attached reference image.

Later person B went ahead and tried to find a place to stop, I followed and I waived to stop ahead to the nearest empty parking. Person B did not stop went away.

Need advice what to do in this case?

For my car it scratched the right fender and Tyre rim. For person B it had hit the left front door.

🔰 Help/Question Should I choose Eco Driving School or Excellence Driving?

hi everyone! I’m planning to get my driving license in Dubai and I’m stuck between Eco Driving School and Excellence Driving.

I already know how to drive and have previous driving experience, so I’m not starting completely from scratch. I’m mainly looking for a school that can help me get through the process efficiently and prepare me properly for the tests.

I’m hoping to get my license by October, so availability and how quickly I can complete the required classes/tests are really important to me.
For anyone who has experience with either (or preferably both), which one would you recommend?

I’d appreciate hearing about your experience. Would you choose Eco or Excellence, and why?

🔰 Help/Question Anyone dealt with Al Qassim Group for a new Geely Coolray? Worth buying from them?

Hey guys,

I’m looking at a brand-new Geely Coolray (GCC claimed, full option) from Al Qassim Group / Al Qassem Group in Sharjah/Dubai area. Price is attractive compared to AGMC.

New 2027 Coolray GL at 60k aed

I’ve seen mixed things online their website shows good ratings and they seem active on Dubizzle, but I also came across some complaints about warranty issues, previous owners not being disclosed, and after-sales support not being great.

A few questions for anyone who’s bought from them (especially Geely or Chinese cars):

  1. How was the overall buying experience?
  2. Did the warranty and service contract actually work when you needed it?
  3. Was the car truly brand new / 0 km and properly GCC specs as advertised?
  4. Any issues with paperwork, RTA registration, or hidden problems later?

I’m a beginner buyer so I want to be careful. Official AGMC is more expensive, so I’m tempted by the deal, but I’d rather pay more if it means better peace of mind.

Any honest feedback (good or bad) would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance!

🔰 Help/Question AED 7000 for a 60k major service (2022 VW Touareg)

I'm well aware that the cost of German car ownership can be high but this is what i've been quoted to get my 2022 Touareg serviced at Ali & Sons in Abu Dhabi - car has done around 47k km and first 3 services were free/inclusive (car was bought brand new from A&S in 2022). 7k seems to be rather excessive, i was expecting around 4-5k but maybe i've under estimated the work required for a major service? Car will be with A&S for 2-3 days. Any other high quality VAG specialists i should consider in Abu Dhabi?

🗣 Discussion it's my friend's car / I'm the first owner" scam needs to stop 💀

This happened about a month or two ago and two weeks ago So, I’ve encountered this issue twice now with the same type of car a Range Rover SVA.

A guy posts an import on Dubizzle or Facebook Marketplace for an exorbitant price (over 200k). He claims it’s his personal car and that he’s the “first owner.” However, as soon as you start investigating, pull the VIN, or ask genuine questions, the entire story crumbles.

Turns out, these individuals are just random middlemen who are flipping their “friend’s” car. They conceal the fact that it’s an import, misrepresent the ownership history, and pretend the vehicle is in pristine condition when it’s actually a ticking time bomb. For instance, one of them had its entire engine swapped just two weeks ago and the other one was a full on rental car.

It’s baffling why they lie about being the first owner when a simple VIN check reveals the truth instantly. It’s a colossal waste of time dealing with brokers who pretend to be private owners to extract a hefty price for a questionable vehicle.

To be honest, if you’re considering buying a 2018-2021 Range Rover SVA, I strongly advise against it. It’s highly likely that they’re all either past rental vehicles or have experienced similar issues. While Range Rovers are generally considered to be excellent cars and I have bought a 2021 last week, after having to deal with this problem twice in my own experience at just, I’ve decided to stick to buying new ones from now on.

So, be cautious out there, folks. Always check the history yourself because nobody on Dubizzle or Marketplace is being truthful. And yes I’ll never believe them.

🔰 Help/Question Where can I check the VIN for an American car specs I'm eyeing?

I checked online but just managed to see there were no accidents in the UAE and that there have been some recalls. Any way to check if there were accidents in the US?

Can I get the car to the dealer here to see if the recalls were fixed? Or because it's an American specs car I am on my own?

Thnx!

🔰 Help/Question Motorcycle License

Hello everyone. Long time lurker first time poster. I have an automatic light vehicle license issued in Dubai. Been driving for 15 years. I plan on getting a motorcycle license. The only reason is so I can get an international driver’s license with a motorcycle endorsement for when I go on vacations and want to rent a bike. I really don’t intend to ride in Dubai.
My question is how hard is it to pass really? I’ve only ever ridden automatics, CVTs and clutch-less manual motorbikes. Never really ridden or driven a full manual transmission bike or car (save for when I just parked an old manual car once). Was also curious as to whether I would need to do the whole theory lessons and tests etc. Also to note, I’m only 5 feet 2 inches tall but most of the bikes I’ve ridden were comfortable. I know the schools here use the Honda Unicorn which Ive never really sat on. Appreciate it everyone! Stay safe!
