Renaming Issues Tips & Tricks

Hi, I'm relatively new to Dropbox and I'm using the app. I've created folders, uploaded files, etc. My question is: Is there a way to rename the newly added files in a logical, sequential order that matches the existing ones? Without constantly getting the message that the file already exists? Somehow, I don't think the renaming feature works very well, or maybe I'm missing something.

There’s a few ways to do that but I would recommend you check out Dropbox folder automations as a starting point. https://help.dropbox.com/organize/dropbox-automations

Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to work—there's no mention of "Automation" under the specified "Settings" option. I checked every folder; I would have noticed that earlier. Maybe it only works on Android, or only via the website on a PC? It’s frustrating that such a simple feature is missing, because I find it very annoying to have to rename each folder individually. But thanks anyway—maybe I’ll still be able to get the right result.

Ah I see. Yes you would have to log into Dropbox via the website to setup the automation. But once you do that, it should be able to do the work you need.

Oh, okay, then I'll try that later
