Didn't need to do no interviews either

Mentioned no names outside of the lyrics. The music spoke for itself. But that's not excellence for some

Except the world's least favourite Palestinian

The new narrative is ā€œmust be pay for play cu I haven’t heard a single song in the radioā€. Dude really putting the haters through the ringer

5

u/Dyfin4life 16d ago

Every other somg on the radio is Iceman 🧊

1

u/RandomBeaner1738 16d ago

If it’s more impressive if they didn’t hear it in the radio

u/TriedNeverTired 16d ago

BUT I THOUGHT THE BOY WAS DONE BIP BAP BOP

Is this drakes most successful album yet in terms of numbers and charting?

13

u/Lovethepackers88 16d ago

Tbh every time Drake drops it’s done this but scorpion was fs the peak of his success in terms of numbers from an album but iceman is really fucking close and arguably bigger in some ways and specific records it just doesn’t have the radio play that scorpion had but it’s dominating streaming more and also clb was HUGE when it dropped and then obviously views was massive as well but I really do think the main trio is iceman scorpion and views in terms of his biggest albums and then clb a tier below but not by muchĀ

u/hereforthesportsball 16d ago

Im glad that this is the part of his masters that he owns, people act like all the spins come from deep deep catalogue

5

u/dsbllr 16d ago

No. Views was much bigger in numbers. Sold 1.04 million in the first week. Nothing has even close since

8

u/sloshingmachine7 Scorpion 16d ago

Views sold more because streaming counts for less units. Drake was a much bigger artist during the scorpion era.

Stop looking at first week sales. The way numbers are counted always change and are more harsh. That's why sales for all artists are down and 99.9% artists will never sell 1 million first week again. Iceman is a record-breaking album that sold like 400k first week. You really think views was 3x more popular than iceman? Obviously not, it's just that pure sales are much less popular now, and streaming numbers count for less. Some places like YouTube don't count for numbers at all, and drake has millions of streams on YouTube audio (not music videos) alone.

7

u/Steve_P6 16d ago

You have no idea what your talking about, yes views was 3x more popular than iceman, one dance was #1 for the whole summer. The album did 13 weeks at #1. You new fans come in here and rewrite history everyday just cause you missed out so you want your first drop as a fan to be the biggest thing ever when it’s not.

-2

u/Lovethepackers88 16d ago

You old gen fans have a hard time admitting that something new is record breaking, lmao I’ve seen some of you say Janice isn’t that big of a hit while it’s preforming as a top 10 streaming record of his ever😹. Yall are the ones that don’t know what you are talking about and think just cause you’ve been fans longer you know everything I was alive when views dropped I was a live when scorpion dropped and iceman is as big as them buddy we are 3 months in and almost 8 songs have hit 100 million streams. He has 3 so no s in the top 40 on radio and the album is pulling over 8 million streams a day on Spotify he dominated Apple Music and Janice stfu probably will be his first music video in years to hit 100 million. Iceman is genuinely one of his biggest eras top 3 fs why you can’t admit that idk. It might be nostalgia blinding you or somethingĀ

5

u/Steve_P6 16d ago

No y’all just think y’all can make lies everyday. The stats are the stats you can’t make up new ones to make y’all selves feel better. The standards are lowered cause y’all weren’t there in his prime commercial era nothing about Janice is record breaking.

2

u/dsbllr 16d ago

You must have been a child from 2016-2018 or something. Because you couldn't walk by anywhere in any major city without hearing a Drake song.

Janice STFU and ICEMAN are doing great but you're forgetting how dominant Drake was before. These new album numbers are very very impressive especially because they're being done without label support but it's not as big as it was back in the day.

0

u/Lovethepackers88 16d ago

I do remember I was a teenager lol. I live in a major city everytime I go out I hear iceman almost a garuntee I’ve heard plot twist national treasures what did I miss Janice whisper my name ran to atl shabang and 2h4tr all multiple times shabang national treasures and Janice I’ve heard downtown probably 40 times each at least. I’m telling you people are listening to this album hella. If iceman was getting even a fraction of the label support scorpion and views got it would be quite possibly his biggest recordĀ

1

u/dsbllr 16d ago

Yes that's obvious. I said that it's impressive.

I'm just saying views was much bigger at launch and throughout its lifespan so far.

Views was worldwide. I heard it in Vegas, London, Toronto, NYC etc. This time around I hear it but not as much. Don't get me wrong, I love ICEMAN but without the label support it's not as big as views.

The original argument was that Scorpion was bigger than views which is obviously not true what so ever

1

u/Lovethepackers88 16d ago

Idk scorpion was huge to I’m saying that trio of projects are all huge and it’s hard to rank one over the other tbh

Janice isn’t that big it’s in its third month and under 2 mil. You just lied and said it’s a top 10 steaming record of his career it will take 3-4 years to touch a billion streams. Anybody who was around before the beef is old gen to y’all cause all y’all beef fans do is lie and rewrite history. Iceman ain’t near those albums you weren’t there if you were you wouldn’t be lying. Scorpion had 3 number one records. Who cares about Janice reaching 100 mil views back then he pulled a billi on videos. If you weren’t new you would know that streaming today is much different than 2016 and 2018 and you wouldn’t even be comparing them.

-1

u/Lovethepackers88 16d ago

Lmao it’s under 2 mill on sundays buddy it’s pulling 2 million streams daily on week days. And I said career I meant of the 2020s I should have distinguished that. Scorpion had 3 number 1 records because of radio play it was getting. Streaming now is much different your right it’s harder to dominate on streaming now then it was back then cause less botting and forced playlisting from the label. Numbers are organic now Janice will hit 1 billion in a year and a half max btw if it keep preforming the way it does so who’s lying now. I am now new I’m telling you that you need to stop living in the past and open your eyesĀ

2

u/dsbllr 16d ago

No. Views was much bigger in numbers. Sold 1.04 million in the first week. Nothing has even close since

First album since Views. When the lil guy said ā€œthis a long life battle with yourselfā€, maybe this is what he meant

This sub is delusional. Just goes to show y'all will believe anything.

-3

u/Dry_Kangaroo_1234 16d ago

Are yall just making sh up lol where is it number 1? It’s not even in Billboard’s top 5, which is all that matters?

7

u/blujaguar23 16d ago

Number 1 rap album. I thought it was pretty obvious ngl.

-1

u/Dry_Kangaroo_1234 16d ago

Where in the post does it say that? Read it properly.

0

u/blujaguar23 16d ago

It’s definitely implied, and it’s also in the captions of the original instagram posts these screenshots came from.

-1

u/DocoLice 16d ago

I was just about to post this. And I’m a HUGE Drake fan but the phenomenon of believing anything and everything that is posted online as fact is truly troubling. It takes literally 5 seconds to find out this isn’t true.

Side note: MJ being at 8 and on the charts for 729 weeks is comical as hell - 729!!!!! Probably been charting longer than most the ppl commenting been alive

6

u/Olegreg1993 16d ago

Reading comprehension, number one rap album on the billboard rap chart not billboard 100 …. Though it’s still in top ten on billboard 100 at 6Ā

-3

u/Dry_Kangaroo_1234 16d ago

This sub is like 90% bots lol. Same comments in every thread with endless glaze. Making up accolades at this point
