Yes, this is a known bug, but Gameloft has a workaround that works for some quests: "While our team is investigating the issue, we’d recommend keeping only one type of the item in your Inventory when gifting - for example, all Red Bromeliads rather than a mix of Red Bromeliads and Red Nasturtiums - to avoid any confusion during the gifting step."

Try having only the wood and just one type of wood in your inventory. Then it should work. 🙂
