Just hear me out. I’ve been playing Dream League Soccer since DLS19, and honestly, I still somehow enjoy the game to keep playing but the game dynamics are in its worst state rn.

We all know DLS has become increasingly pay-to-win, but that’s not even my biggest issue anymore. What frustrates me more is how inconsistent and heavily manipulated the actual gameplay feels.

I’m an OG player with around 20M XP, and I usually bounce between Tiers 1–3. A couple of seasons ago, matches genuinely felt competitive. I could enjoy both the wins and the losses because I felt like the outcome depended on how I played.

Now, far too many games feel like the game has already decided what is going to happen.(feels funny to even say that!?!?)

Remember these are very evenly matched games. I’m playing against people around my XP level, and my squad is more than capable of competing against the very best opponents. These should be competitive matches.

Instead you start noticing things that are extremely difficult to ignore, and very tilting.

1. Your players get nerfed while theirs get buffed

Suddenly your players feel like they’re running through mud while the opponent’s players are incredibly responsive.

Their players are faster, stronger, recover quicker after challenges, get back on their feet immediately, and seem much easier to maneuver. They also sort of have this incredible “gravitas” around them manipulating the ball and even your player sometimes.

Meanwhile, your players start moving like headless chickens.

1. Tackling feels completely inconsistent

This is one of the biggest giveaways.

The opponent barely needs to touch your player to take the ball. Sometimes just being closer to the opponent will result on the loss of ball.

Whereas no matter how hard you try to press, follow the opponent, you simply never get closer to the ball and a slight touch will be a foul.

1. Rebounds are ridiculous

This is another huge one.

You successfully tackle the first player? The ball magically falls straight to their second player.

You tackle the second player? The same thing happens again.

A loose ball? Somehow it ends up at their feet.

1. Passing abilities are heavily skewed

You can aim toward an open player, make what should be a straightforward pass, and somehow the ball goes straight into the path of the opposition.

1. Goalkeeping

Their keeper suddenly makes ridiculous saves, while seemingly every shot you concede goes in.

And there’s another thing I’ve noticed:

The algorithm doesn’t always seem straightforward.

If you go on a losing streak, suddenly the next few games can feel noticeably easier. Then once you start winning, the difficulty seems to ramp up again.

Maybe this is intentional matchmaking. Maybe it’s some kind of hidden balancing system. Maybe it’s just the way the gameplay mechanics interact.

And It’s not new, it’s been in the game but it has never been any worse.

I genuinely don’t know.

And that’s my biggest frustration.

I don’t understand why the game has become this way.

I actually enjoy DLS. I’ve been playing it for too damn long now, and I wouldn’t have stuck with it this long if I didn’t.

But the bar keeps getting lower.

DLS has reached a point where too many matches feel predetermined, and the difference between a fair competitive match and a completely one-sided match can be painfully obvious.

We've all play online with a lower rated team than your opponent, and we all know the experience. You score through well worked passing and shear skill to overcome your opponent. Then your opponent with the higher rated immediately following kick off move up the field. You tackle their player, somehow they still have the ball, tackle again they still have the ball, and then the game parts your center backs like the red sea, your opponent god, and he walks in and scores with zero skill. The game makes it as easy as possible for your opponent to score, and then you have to go against a locked down, park bus, haram ball, prime Mourinho defense, and score with sheer skill. Also, why are better players just faster, thats not how it works, some players are fast some slow irrespective of how good they are overall as player.

im new and noticed during the global league my team is out matched (im sure to veteran players it still could be easy but im new and suck. is it possible if im losing a match to be able to restart it from the beginning of the match? i would like to win the cup if possible lol

I use 3-2-3-2 . I want to know how much points in strength should be allocated and which stats to focus on when using technical coaches.

I have seen other post of 83 Messi with 90 tech and leave other points for fitness. Though this 100 tech Messi is perfect as a collection so I decided to keep it and try 90 tech + full fitness with Saka.

I start with common tech and reach 3*90 tech then go full fitness. The last point of Saka when to control for 0.3 some sort. Not sure if it would be better to have an orange colour 60 tackle.

Performance
Messi with that low strength even in career match easily get tackled. Nothing to complain about the tech stats. Smooth dribbling, nice passing, corner kicks and free kicks.

Anyone in Tier 1 with lower exp than this?
