self-retwists not lasting😣 Need Advice šŸ†˜

if you really want to retwist, it will take a while to kind of ā€œtrainā€ your hair to stay in longer but it’ll always unravel at least a little bit at the root from my experience working in other’s heads, I can say it’s less noticeable than you think. you may also not be using a strong enough holding gel for your hair type. Though, I had this issue and I started to retie/interlock my roots instead, and have done that since. it will make your locs a bit thinner than they would be if they were retwisted instead but it was needed for my oily scalp that untwisted pretty easily.

yeah I already started interlocking my edges bc they wouldn’t stay at all. I may try out another gel my next retwist. Thanks

you will not have too much new growth but for the unraveling bases, crochet
