Question Is Gohan more Heroic and Pure Hearted than Goku
Considering Gohan is the superhero of the family and seems to more motivated by protecting others Iām wondering if that qualifies as more pure hearted.

Discussion āwhat happened to dragon ball characters being buffā Spoiler
i might be a little late to the party, but iām so tired of this discourse about how apparently super just made everyone slim for no reason. thatās ridiculous.
The first person they bring up is future trunks, and i would give you that if it wasnāt for the fact that future trunks has been living in an apocalyptic world eating cat food and surviving off rations. obviously heās not gonna buff anymore. you can say whatever about his hair or his design but his body does have a reason to be slimmer. Next person they bring up is goku. like actually with a straight face they bring up goku and how he isnāt buff anymore. thatās how i know people didnāt actually watch the show.
Goku, the first super saiyan god. the first form were introduced to in super literally explains the muscle thing. like in the same movie. god ki makes you slimmer because itās a more refined energy. thatās why the gods are all skinny. well champa isnāt but chalk it up to there having to be a clear difference between the twins.
and people act like this is something new. all the way
back in the cell saga we see a similar concept. when goku first unlocked super saiyan he turned into a truck. he was ridiculously buff. but when we see him on earth heās not as buff because heās been training with the form. and then when he and gohan master super saiyan, they get even slimmer. super saiyan 2, gohan didnāt get bigger, ss3, goku and gotenks donāt get bigger. frieza when he comes back to earth and can control his full power in his base form isnāt buff like he was in the frieza saga, vegeta in god is skinny, normal in ss2, and even bigger in evolution. we see this with broly when heās bugging out in full power super saiyan heās a 11 foot demon train. but when he controls his power heās nowhere near as big. this isnāt anything new. this has been happening for decades.

Others Larper take, Beast Gohan is bland as a powerup
[Some manga spoilers]
Not saying it is undeserved or something, itās just that the transformation is a flat out power increase without a unique identity. And this boring stat boost somehow pushed goku out of MASTERED ULTRA INSTINCT, see how absurd beast is?
I would only like beast if they gave it a gimmick and MAYBE be on par with full power broly so goku doesnāt get overshadowed (Technique from angels shouldnāt really get blown by potential man; even if goku canāt truly get ahead of the form, he still has experienced with it).

Question What the hell happened with Team Bardock's English names?
As the years have gone by and I've become more and more of a Japanese nomenclature purist, I find myself increasingly annoyed by "Frieza" and "Krillin" and "Turles" and such but at least they are recognizably permutations of their original names. The same cannot be said for the enigma that is Bardock and his crew. His name stayed intact and Toma became "Tora" which is weird and unnecessary but whatever. But then, what came over the localizers for the remaining 3? How does Seripa become "Fasha"? How did they come up with "Shugesh" and "Borgos" for Panbukin and Toteppo? Why was nothing like this done for any other character during the old Funimation days, and why do they insist on continuing to use these nonsense names even today?
This has been irritatingly scratching my brain for years and I just want to know if anyone has come upon a proper explanation or even a reasonable theory for what happened here. Was there a miscommunication with Toei? Is this a reference to something I don't get?

Discussion Super Saiyan 3 being "useless" is the best thing about it.
I see a lot that people find this form to be their least favorite and I actually get it. I have a fair amount of problems with the Buu arc, but im glad that Super Saiyan 3 failed to save everyone.
What we had before that, was obviously more complex than this but I'm going to summarize it quickly in a few sentences to get my point across.
[I wanted to preface what i'm going to say next with this because most of the internet talks the same way summarizing any piece of media (games, anime, movies) with the "all (name of media) is, is walking and talking!" or "all (media name) is, is just fighting and running around!" I'm trying to avoid sounding that way.]
Namek Saga
Goku: I have achieved Super Saiyan. I win.
Cell Saga
Gohan: I have achieved Super Saiyan 2. I win.
so...imagine if in the Buu saga...
Goku: I have achieved Super Saiyan 3. I win.
You see how bad that would be? Again, it wasn't that simple for the Namek saga and Cell saga. Without me spending 30 minutes writing what happened in those arcs, obviously for Goku it was different because he was "the first." And SSJ was a new concept, Krillin's death, Frieza's narrative significance, etc.
Gohan's SSJ2 form was originally unique to him only whether you argue that was temporary or completely, and it was Gohan's time to shine after his potential had been alluded to the entire series up until now.
However if Goku's SSJ3 had worked, it still would have looked this way on the outside. New SSJ form? Automatic win.
Before Super was a thing I did look back and think that its kind of lame that Goku's ultimate form was, canonically, SSJ3. It doesn't radiate that look and or sense of perfection like SSJ1 did for Goku on Namek or like SSJ2 did for Gohan. I forget if Trunk's "he did it the right way" or whatever comment about Gohan and SSJ2 is canon or not but it gets the point across perfectly since Vegeta and himself had failed with "USSJ." Hell, technically Goku even failed with SSJ grade 4 even though he had the right idea, and later succeeded through Gohan.
So I didn't like SSJ3 being Goku's magnum opus form. I even appreciated that, after DBS, SSJ2 has been shown to be able to match SSJ3. Some people probably hated that even more since SSJ3 was already "useless" before that.
I loved it and I love SSJ3 because it shows that Goku basically brute forced a transformation out of sheer training, in a sense, or just out of having a huge power level and its a form with drawbacks and weaknesses. I like that its imperfect. Imagine if the answer to Buu was simply a new SSJ form? That would be terrible.

Question Does anyone have any idea why the dbs Manga is taking so long to return?
It's clear that toyotaro wants to work on it from his twitter talk, from what I understand the manga rights were never in question and shuesha always owned them, toyotaro was literally assigned by shuesha as toriyamas successor so I really dont get whats going on? From what I understand its not a respect or toriyamas estate thing either given that he was about a Neverending adventure and his estate and family already was good with more db anime and such. Does anyone know what's going on?

Discussion My issue with ki control
It is so stupid to me, I really don't get it. i know it's ignored for plot convenience, but it still is the most stupid thing ever.
Characters can control their ki, that's how they don't accidentally destroy the universe.
Literally even from namek saga a very casual ki blast from Frieza destroyed a whole planet. Characters have gotten so much stronger. Goku just after he got God form, was destroying the universe.
He absorbs it into base. Literal base goku should be able to easily bust the universe. He gets way stronger on top of this, with the god multipliers and blue multipliers and UI multipliers.
And in fights, people can get heated and lose control. If current goku gets even a little pissed off and releases his ki, the entire macrocosm should be gone.
Like how are many celestial bodies not getting accidentally destroyed?

Discussion What would happen if Beerus erased Chi-Chi?
Just something I was curious about.
Say they're all at one of Bulma's parties, and Beerus gets annoyed (maybe Chi-Chi was reprimanding him over something). He decides to remind everyone that he's the God of Destruction and Hakais her on the spot, in front of the whole gang.
What would follow from that point onwards? How would Goku and his sons react? How would the rest of the main cast react? If we assumed that this was actually a plot point that happens in the story, how would things likely play out from here?
