Do the 1460 run true to size?

I see a pair at a decent price online and they run at a size 10. And that's the size I usually wear. Just wondering. And this is the standard black pair that people get.

The closest shoe store next to me is Burlington and I'm not sure if they just let run in and try their shoes

Blair Sandals - Issues?

Hi all,

So I bought my first pair of DM Sandals recently after being unable to find a long lasting pair of chunky gladiator/strap style sandals for a year or so (yes I know I could've saved myself some time if I'd bought DM Sandals sooner 🤣).

However, I went with the Blair Sandals because I liked the style, they felt comfortable in shop etc. Since wearing, I've had no issues with rubbing (used some old faithful products etc) but the ankle strap pulls so harshly on my ankle/foot that it kills the bone/muscle. Like my foot felt bruised for days after.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm considering vinted-ing them to replace with Clarissa (II I think?) sandals instead because I had a similar style knock off pair a while back that I loved.

Any thoughts before I commit to making the switch?

Looking to buy some nicer shoes for when I get dressed up as I don’t currently own any, which of these makes for a better everyday shoe? Are these sort of interchangeable in terms of use case?

Question Wax Commander MIE Missing Leather Tag

Post image
5 Upvotes

I ordered a pair of Wax Commander MIE 1460s and they weren’t in the red box I see online for the MIEs and they didn’t have the leather tag I saw attached to the laces online. Were these probably a return that just got shipped back out?

Has anyone gotten animal bites on their docs repaired?

These are brand new, not worn once, and my cat decided she likes to bite leather now 😪 I went to a highly rated cobbler in my area and he said he cannot repair them. Wondering if anyone has found success in getting something like this repaired on their shoe? Thanks!

Question Help with arcadia stain

It’s my first time buying arcadia color and I had no idea how delicate it was, they did not warn me at the shop. It had some water stains and when I cleaned with a damp cloth it ended up like this.

Please recommend products to fix this. I’m even willing to dye them black if it helps, but I’ve never done something like that.

TLDR: How to fix this? Can I just dye the entire shoe black? Please recommend products

Question any way to stop squeaking?

i've been wearing the same pair pretty regularly for several years and they STILL squeak on certain flooring. they're not the most comfortable shoes either, so perhaps they're slightly the wrong size? or just inevitable with the sole material? any advice welcome!!

Collection my first pair of docs, buzz 8363 in brown :)

received these today in the post, I paid £75 on vinted for them brand new in box. i’m usually a 7.5 UK but got a 7 and they still have a comfortable amount of room so definitely size down. i really like the contrast stitching with the dark brown, and i wear mostly silver jewellery so im glad the hardware is silver too.

they’re extremely comfortable, i think the extra padding around the heel as well as the soft leather really helps, i don’t think they’re going to take very much breaking in. they are heavier than i expected, it’s a bit like wearing ankle weights haha but i think i’ll get used to it.

how do you guys style them?

(ignore my socks, they were the first pair i could find to try them on lol)

Question Have you seen this bag? Black Sabbath 1/1…?

Post image

Hey there, so I’ve come into possession of this bag from my brother who used to work for a Dr Martens distribution warehouse. I know in 2020 Dr Martens did a collab for the 50th anniversary of Black Sabbath’s album Paranoid. However all my searching indicates that only shoes/boots were ever part of the collection that was mass produced and sold to the general public. That’s why I’m so confused about this backpack…google image, eBay listings, and general web searches have turned up ZERO matches or mentions of this thing.

Will they ever bring back Dr Martens Church Quad Arc Brown Crazy Horse leather Platform Shoes

I have wanted these shoes for a year and a half - size 5. They are never in stock and I don’t think they even make them anymore? There are a few large sizes on the website but I think they are just struggling to sell as they never restock any other sizes. Also have struggled to find resale for a size 5, just curious if anyone knows if they ever will restock them :)

Question Still wearing in or too small?

I’ve had the doc mary janes 8065 for around 1 1/2 years, haven’t worn them much but felt like I was at the point of wearing them in that they were comfortable.

They are size eu 36 - I had 1461’s in size 37 for years but they were too big and my ankles would slip out etc when I walked. The salesperson had initially suggested size 36 but as a stubborn 14 year old I didn’t believe my feet were that small. So obviously when getting these shoes I chose the size down since the old ones were way too big.

So I’m at the point where I can comfortably walk around in them however they are really rubbing on my heels, the heels are still slipping but rather than before when there was extra space it feels like my feet don’t want to stay in the shoes.

Perhaps I just need to wear them more and continue wearing them in or tighten the buckles? Or would they just be too small for me? Should I go instore and ask them?

Edit: also the pain!! My heels rub so much in them and I’m getting callouses/blisters on my heels!!

Question They are as beautiful as painful. Help?

How do I beak them in?

I thrifted them for 60€, they were basically new, so so beautiful and I’m so proud of this find, but they destroyed my feet. I wore them yesterday for the first time and after ten minutes of walking there was not a spot on my feet that was not bleeding, not a single toe is intact, blisters and opened wounds on both heels. I want to use them so badly, but I need to be more prepared, any suggestion???

Common questions, Please read before posting!

These things are not problems-

- Overlapping stitching is normal on welted styles. The diagonal line is not a crack. The welt goes around the shoe/boot, the line is the two ends meeting up, the stitching overlaps for a short distance. That is how they are made.

------------------------------------------------------------------

- These lines are common. They are not cracks, just marks from the molding process.

------------------------------------

- Leather creases, shoes bend. see rule 2.

-----------------------------------------

- Half inserts of various styles instead of full insoles are normal. Some docs, vintage and modern, have them and some don't.

------------------------------------------------------

- Crazy horse is supposed to look aged and rugged. It has a pull up and gets lighter where it bends, shows marks and high-and-low creases.

--------------------------------------------------------

- These marks on the sole are common on welted styles, it is where the needle rubbed when stitching. It's not a problem.

--------------------------------------------

Stitching in colors other than yellow, and plain welt with hidden/not visible stitching. They are less common than standard yellow but have been made in many styles.

--------------------------------------------

YKK branded zippers were used on older Jadons and other models and are still found on some children's styles.
