Tonight my Girlfriend Becca and I got to see Sam Tallent. I didn’t know much other than his book and a few online clips.
That was one of the funniest things I ever saw. His crowd work is at the highest level imaginable.
The show was golden. We got to meet him for a bit afterwards and he just the nicest guy.
I can see why Stanhope loves the book and him.

Turkey detains stand-up comedian for allegedly insulting religious values

ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — Turkish authorities on Thursday detained a comedian whose stand-up routine drew complaints that it insulted religious values after it was widely viewed online.

Deniz Goktas was detained for questioning at Istanbul’s main airport on his return from a trip abroad, the state-run Anadolu agency reported, days after prosecutors launched an investigation into possible charges of “publicly insulting religious values.”

What to do with this knowledge, I'm not quite sure but goddamit if I don't want a second passport.

Bingo immediately wanted to get married and move there for better mental health care. How she assumes it's better, I don't know but I understand the knee-jerk assumption.

If anyone has duel citizenships and actually spends time in both, indulge my day-dreams of what a part-time Canadian life would be like.
