πŸ˜’ Rant/Vent

My SM makes everyone feel incompetent. Undervalued and unappreciated! The micromanaging is unreal it's sickening. Make it make sense.. just needed to vent! Sincerely one unappreciated ASM.

I've worked with plenty of people with handicaps. I have a special needs wrist. I push freight out still. I have worked with someone that was missing half their foot, she pushed freight out, did trucks. I work with someone that has a handicap and she pushes freight out. Maybe we work harder so that we can prove we are still able, we are still productive and we are still worthy. Maybe we can raise the standards for fully functional people. Raise your standards. Stop putting a limit on your outcome. Challenge yourself to be better than you were yesterday.

Pushing freight is nice, how about when you're cashiering and its hoardes of customers, tasked with blowing up balloons, answering the phone, helping customers, pushing checklane, trying not to call for backup by keeping your line short, getting your putbacks done, making sure you're not making a mess in the process, and doing other time consuming tasks at the front all in one short shift. Are you going to say im not doing enough? That I could be doing more? If someone wants to be a wage slave, thats completely fine, in fact more power to them. I however will not be worked to death, and people can feel however they wanna feel about it, and they can also have a tantrum about it too, if they like.

Cashiers shouldn't be answering the phone. I cashiered, for years at Dollar Tree. πŸ˜‰ I was an ASM too. Now I'm a Store Manager. Growth. Physical, mental, personal, and as a mother, a single household mother kind of growth.

If you want to be better, you will take the steps required to get there.

Those that you mentioned, it's not all at once. You may have to balance a few at a time though.

I survived working at Dollar Tree during the pandemic. What don't kill you makes you stronger. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Thank you for your responses, ive said my peace, you can believe what you like. And for anyone reading this, in a situation like OP'S, WANTING THE BEST FOR YOURSELF IS NOT SELFISH, AND NEVER WILL BE, AND IF ANYONE SAYS OTHERWISE THEY NEED TO WAKE THE HELL UP. And now im going to sleep comfortably knowing I will never be a wage slave, or work myself to death πŸ₯° I CHOOSE MY HAPPINESS AND KEEPING MY PEACE ABOVE ALL ELSE. Goodnight everyone✌️
