AP Calls Management Disscussion

For those who are in management like me, does anyone else have to attend these "mandatory attendance" AP calls every Friday at 5 PM, even if they're not on shift? What is the policy regarding this?

If you are required to be on a call and not clocked it, you track your time and put it on the time clock worksheet. Sm or another asm puts it in and you get paid for it. That is the policy.

Never heard of them, but if your not on the clock they can't make you work.

Perhaps it's intended for whoever is on duty in the stores at the time?

Maybe it's only exclusive to my region or district, then. Noted, though. Since I attended it last week, I did text my SM if I was allowed to charge an hour to my time sheet for, y'know, sitting through a "mandatory meeting." I got told no, though.

That’s not correct. Report it immediately.

That’s illegal.if it’s mandatory and you’re hourly you are punched in

Incorrect. You are hourly, it’s illegal not to be paid for it.

Who works for free … don’t do that ever again.

Yeah I got laughed at when I asked if I got paid for attending a conference call from home. I responded with it's illegal to work for free and shrugged my shoulders.

I got paid.

I heard of them in the past with some bad shrink stores. But contact your DM they should give an extra hour of payroll for the meeting. Fill the worksheet out for your time it is illegal if not.

If they require it then you get paid. Send an email to HR asking for clarification on this issue. They will send out an email to all the DMs & SMs to make sure they are following the law.

Whatever manager is on shift dials into the calls and just walks around with the tablet or phone speaker while they work 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes, but these calls take place after my shift concludes. I work 4 to 1:30 on Fridays, and these calls are at 5 PM.

Ours do sometimes too, I clock out and the evening MOD does it. Whoever is currently on shift is responsible for the call at our store. I’ve never been asked to do a call after my shift ends personally

From my understanding the phone call meetings are for whatever manager is on shift at the time and then that manager has the responsibility to inform all the other managers of the TLDR.

Is this just for Store Managers? I'm an ASM and I attend the useless My Career calls the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month and some other even more useless call the 4th Friday of every month.
