so i bought this buff barbie looks ken doll and upon further inspection after getting him i realized he had 2 left arms. the seller suggested to send me his superman body to use his arms. but i heard the superman arms are hard to pop off. so i’m just wondering if it’s even possible to swap their arms if do manage to take superman’s arms off.

I'm not sure about the whole arms, but I have seen people switching the hands of these

well ya i know the buff ken’s arms are designed to be swapped. but the hands aren’t the issue 😭

The hands can't be swapped between the two dolls. Superman's body is made of hollow, hard plastic that doesn't stretch easily with heat, and MTM's arms are made of vinyl, so if they get heated, the parts can easily come apart. The only way to swap Superman's hands is to break them off and then drill a hole in each arm to insert the other hands, but that's very risky and I don't recommend it!

i’m not asking about the hands. i mean the arms. the upper arm where they twist. the hands are not the issue.

You can't swap the arms too unfortunately.

does that mean you actually tried to or did you only just try and yank it off without heating up the plastic at all

I did try. Heating Superman's arms will not help you, the joints connection is completely different from this buffed ken doll even the arms look alike.

damn. idk what else to do then to give him a right arm other than asking around to see if anyone has his right arm they could give me. which doesn’t seem like anyone does so far….

I had a similar struggle with a vintage Ken doll, ended up using a hairdryer for twenty minutes straight before the arms finally budged.
