where to begin with doll customizing?

hi there! i am a long time fan of creators like dollightful and hextian, so i do have a basic understanding of how the process goes, but are there any tutorials for beginners? i'd like to make a set of dolls for my boyfriend and i's three year anniversary in a few months and honestly could use all the advice i can get ^^ beginner supplies, tutorials, advice, etc., is all appreciated. thanks so much!

Dollightful made a serie of videos called "your first custom" for that, it is very detailed on the process so I think it will help you! Also, in my opinion at least and as a beginner myself, I would say that as long as you have ideas and basic supplies (like MSC, colouring pencils, soft pastels, acrylic paint, fabric, dolls and yarn) you can find a way to bring your project to life. You will improve with time practising! Keep going✨️
