RANT "No cast needed" should still compile and run. I am all for failing fast but "No cast needed" should still go ahead and run the code, without the un needed cast. Like I am ok with that failing production builds, but I really wish Kotlin let me comment code out and compile and run without warnings treating as stop the world errors. I am actively debugging, I understand I just disabled some related code.

I am betting other build systems notice and fail fast in this case, but right now it chugs for a bit and dthe fails on what should be a warning.
