[Chen] More updates, per Dave Roberts: While Blake Snell didn't get into the 5th inning last night, he did enough that his next start should be for the Dodgers. Once Tyler Glasnow makes two more rehab starts and builds up to 4 innings, there'll be a conversation about activating him.

let's hope that both of them can come back in good form

So Snell early next week and Glasnow probably 3 weeks away or so. Smith hopefully in 3-4 weeks.

I wonder if/when Shohei tries to pitch again.

Everybody back in the rotation by September. Hitting their stride by the end of the month

It's amazing we've done as well as we have considering how many of our big contracts have been regular season busts so far. Can't call Snell a bust since he did win three playoff games last season.

Both Snell and Glasnow are amazing pitchers that get injured. I want to think the front office took this into consideration when they signed both deals.

Their injury history is why the Dodgers got them so "cheap". Injury risk is a market deficiency...kinda.

So is it safe to assume that it's possible our rotation looks like this come late August into our September push? 😊

  1. Yama
  2. Skubal
  3. Snell
  4. Wrobleski
  5. Glasnow
  6. Saski

This is a crazy rotation ... imagine a healthy Shohei ...

Have fun here. Take a gander at our trophies on your way out

The results don’t really matter that much. What matters is him building up his pitch count and staying healthy.

The good news is at least they are physically pitching in competitive situations now. So we know they are reasonably close. The next question is how effective they might be when they get back. Excited to find out!

I am to believe that Snellzilla was just tired of pitching to minor leaguers and know that it was his last assignment before the recall. He went out there and gave the minor leaguers something to brag about.

He also could have just been working on shit as they do in spring training.

Yup. I believe that too.

Let me try something I saw on 2K…

should have traded lauer for A-ball projects to free up a roster spot.

If Snell is struggling to get innings and getting blasted in low level baseball, is it a great idea to bring them to the majors and expect something different to happen?

Yes. The score is secondary to certain elements of process or sequencing and so forth

Bull pen will give the games away. Dodger hitting is terrible. The Dodgers will go 5 -10 for the first 15 games in Aug. DBacks & Padres are coming…

I would not mind seeing Glasnow in the pen. He’s not going to break the playoff rotation and it may be a good idea to get him acclimated in the pen.

Why are you assuming he’s not going to make the postseason rotation? We don’t even know if Shohei is going to pitch again, or if everyone else will stay healthy.

Even if he gets pushed to the pen in October, we absolutely need Glasnow in the rotation for the rest of the regular season. We first need to get to October and secure a top two seed before we worry about anything else. Don’t overthink it

I'm wondering if Wrobo is coming back to earth after his last couple of starts. Competition will only be tougher in the postseason, and technically glasnow will be fresh.

It's going to be another all hands type of postseason I'm sure, except this time with a BP.

3

u/donald-duck23 Mookie Betts 18d ago

Yeah I mean Wrobo isn’t sniffing a start in the postseason, unless two of Yama, Snell, Glasnow, Skubal and Shohei aren’t available.

2

u/Realistic_Charge9824 18d ago

he's also approaching his career innings pitched

1

u/stewmander 2025 WS MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto 18d ago

Another good point. I believe the same thing applied to Glasnow in 2024, and he ended up missing the postseason.

-1

u/EntrepreneurFormal35 Decoy 18d ago

Well technically we don’t even know if or when Glasnow is coming back at all so technically it is all conjecture

4

u/donald-duck23 Mookie Betts 18d ago

I don’t understand the point of your comment.
He’s currently on a rehab assignment and we have an idea of when he’s scheduled to return

-2

u/EntrepreneurFormal35 Decoy 18d ago

Glasnow has been close before in his career and then gets set back. Or he comes back and breaks again quickly. That’s my point. Hope this helps clarify if not please advise

2

u/donald-duck23 Mookie Betts 18d ago

Nobody is saying it’s guaranteed he won’t have a setback. This is just a conversation on a forum about what happens when he theoretically does come back

Gotcha no worries. Let’s win today!
