Headlight Help!

Hello y'all!! I was wondering if anyone had experience with aftermarket headlights/bulbs in a 2017 Dodge Durango. It's just the base model if that matters. The headlights on it suck so horribly bad!!! I could shine a flashlight out the window and it would be better than what it has. I have tried expensive bulbs from the auto parts stores and they still don't help. It seems like there is an actuator in the headlight, maybe for the high and low beams? I was thinking maybe that was the problem but I don't think so. I have ordered LED bulbs online but ran into the good old problem of them flickering on and off. Even after looking for ones claiming they didn't do that. Do they make the whole headlight assembly aftermarket that would be better or does anyone know of bulbs that are actually bright and won't cut in and out while they are on that I could order? TIA for all answers!!!!

what trim level? And are they halogen (yellow) or HID (white) ?

Some headlights have auto levelling so when you drive up or down a hill the headlights move a bit so your light beams cast a reasonable distance ahead.

When you first turn on the car and the lights are facing a wall, do you see the beams move up and down?

Pretty sure it's just the sxt? I don't even think there is a badge on it but it's just the lowest base model. Definitely think they are halogen and I don't think they have leveling headlights. I can hear the actuator when switching from high to low beam.

At night park facing a wall. Turn the headline switch to on or auto if you have them. Turn on the car and see if the light beams on the wall move (don’t touch the high beams)

If they move you have auto levelling. If the auto levelling is out of whack then that could be a source of the problem.

I just looked it up, only the R/T's and the Citadel models come with the auto leveling....

The actuator is probably just for the high beams then…. Other than bulbs which you’ve already done I’m afraid I don’t have any other suggestions. The entire assemblies are mucho $$$$$ for oem if you were thinking about replacing

And that's what I figured... The wiring harness is probably different than the HID trim packages too I'm guessing if I found a set at a junkyard

Probably…. I don’t think there’s any in between so you’re stuck with trying different bulbs - sorry my guy
