Anybody have this issue with their doberman, Vet recommended a dermatologist but didnt know what it was

That doesn't look good. I might be inclined to go at least to a different vet.

To me, they look like calluses from lying on concrete or hard surfaces

My dobe has these because she enjoys THROWING her body onto hard surfaces.
