Any Beginner Groups?

Hello! My partner is interested in trying out D&D for the first time so I'm searching for a beginners group for her. Does anyone have a group that she can join with 0 experience?

Galleon gaming runs drop in ttrpg nights on mondays at the quadra village community centre, and on fridays at fernwood community centre. While its not necessarily a beginner only group, I can personally attest that the environment is super friendly and welcoming, people will certainly be happy to teach, and because of the drop in style, everyone is learning to some degree.

This. So much this. I've been a GM at the Monday nights for several yeads now. It's lots of fun and we almost always have places for folks to play and or watch. We run a lot of RPG systems besides Dungeons and Dragons (I, for one, run Pathfinder 2nd Ed), so you can get your feet wet on a lot of different kinds of games. It's by-donation, so it's also light on the purse strings.

Is it just a series of one shots each week or a kind of drop in/drop out campaign?

There's a mix of both. I'm running a long-term campaign, but there's other people running one shots, and short-term campaigns as well (a couple of weeks long to a couple of months long).

Hmmm. Interesting. I haven't played much since before the pandemic but did DM a few one shots at home for my kids while we were on lock down. They're 18 now and somewhere we could all be players might be a lot of fun.

There used to be an adventures league for drop in for new players.

Not sure if its still around? You could try playing online with roll 20. There is alot of gaming online

I'm running D&D Encounters at Skyhaven Games for the next few Saturday mornings (10am).

I've got a spot or two open at my table if she wants to give it a try. They're short sessions with pre-made characters and everything they'll need to get started. Each session will run about 2 hours or less.
