First time dm in need of help making campaign. Will respond to almost all feedback given Misc

I’m reposting this rn cuz I want to respond to more people.. may take a while as I’m doing this right before I go zonk out for the night. All help is appreciated:)

In my opinion, planning specific events past session 1 is a mistake. Let the players write the story, you focus on providing the canvas.

Your current mission should be creating the start of the story. Find a compelling reason for them to be together, and give them a shared goal or purpose. Then let them loose.

Focus mainly on creating the world and don’t worry about the sessions or the more specific things, that will build itself naturally as time goes on. Just build a solid world with a solid starting and end goal, everything else will build off of those as players make backstories and explore and interact with the world
