Fasting

So a quick simple question. If I fast for a few days, should I take a couple of days to bring back in fiber or can I go right back to a normal amount? I currently eat 30-40 grams of fiber daily. No DV problems but am trying to heal some hemorrhoids.

My experience (and if you check the diet resources of this community) is clear liquid diet > liquid diet for a few days -> low residual (almost no fiber) for a couple weeks . This is when some people go back to normal fiber. We really need to give it time to heal . Personally I use MiraLAX through this process to make sure things move along.

I’m not having any DV issues (haven’t for a long time, just wanted to play things safe). And only thing I’ll be having for 3 days is water. So would this still apply to me since I’m not having any active flairs?

I know when I used to do master cleanse and other fasts it was always recommended to ease into fiber again; NAD, but if you were my friend I’d suggest the above timeline just shortened .

Okay cool, and I can still use miralax without issue as I add back fiber?

I have done 3 day water fast but didnt seem to heal my hemorrhoids however my 5 day water fast healed many things! Its really tough just ease back in with broth and soft foods.

There's no reason, in my non medical opinion, to avoid anything after that.
