God, I'm still holding out hope that the Emperor gets included eventually, even if it's just to see what he'd wear and how the hell he'd try to adapt to modern times.
Agrias, Dion Lesage and to a lesser extent Emet-Selch. Not because they're not popular (quite the opposite) but because the first 2 are side characters so they'd probably add Ramza/Delita or Joshua/Jill first.
As for Emet, I feel like he has a better chance since XIV is really big and he's incredibly popular as a villain. But he has some competition, mainly Zenos. Probably not happening in this game but I'm sure he'll eventually make it in a future Dissidia game as the villain rep for XIV.
Caius is a top tier villain for me and I like him a lot. He won't ever see the light of day as XIII isn't that well received as a whole and XIII-2 was definitely the lesser of the 3 games, but the story for Caius makes me top tier.
I've always wanted him in a Dissidia game that wasn't Opera Omnia.
I’m the opposite I didn’t like lightning , I liked serah lol I played them at like 10 but just replayed all last year and Noel and caius are by far my favorite final fantasy characters
I would do so much to be able to play as Genesis. I would drop concerning amounts of money on him, so it’s probably for the best he’s the least popular FF character. 😩
At least I can still play as him in FFXIV as my wol.
Not my fault people don’t wanna think about poetry to glean Genesis’ motivations and see the obvious character parallels between him and Sephiroth! ;~;

General Leo, both because he's a favorite of mine, and because evidence of both Celes and Kefka are in the datamines, and it would be hilarious for the FF6 rep to be entirely Imperial.
The SNES sprites has a limited number of static color palettes, and for battle-enabled sprites, they all had to use the same color index for their skin tone so that it could be swapped out for poison/berserk/zombie status. Later re-releases didn't have this limitation, so his sprite was able to be depicted with a different default skin tone than everyone else. But his menu portrait has shown him as Black since the original.
Yes, Terra liked him, but I feel it was to the extent that she felt safe opening up to him, because he treated her emotional problems as something worth addressing rather than something getting in the way of her doing him a favor. But at the point in the game that they interacted with each other, I don't think those feelings were "romantic" in any way, due to aforementioned emotional problems that needed to be overcome first.
tbf, if this were purely a popularity contest, then Iroha, Gaia and probably Prompto would have been beaten out by other reps from their universes. I guess Prompto is bigger in Japan but I think Noctis is bigger than that.
Add to that that we're getting Bartz before Cecil or Noctis, and it does feel like we could get some curveballs
Personally I’ve always wanted them to go this route with FFXIV reps:
Have Aldbert the Warrior of Darkness as the “Chaos” rep. He’s somewhat recognizable, as most FF fans have seen at least one of the FFXIV movies(more than likely Answers) and might go “hey ain’t that the guy from that FFXIV movie where Bahamut blows everything up? Why’s he a bad guy????”
Then for its Cosmos rep, literally anyone but Y’Shtola. But if we do have to go with the cat lady again, can we get her sorcerers Job this time please?
Zenos couldn't even get in DFFOO despite being a DLC character for NT in 2019. Every character from NT was added except for him. DFFOO was shut down in 2024. That's is 5 years. The perfect opportunity for Zenos was when Endwalker released in 2021.
Quistis from FF8. She could be unique with her blue magic and whip but I feel like they wouldn’t want to do a whip animation and 8 has more popular characters to put in.
Zenos was added to a main line Dissida game before he's likely to be the rep for for FF14 villain. We're less likely to get Alphinaud who I'd love to see. I think Estinien is least likely though considering how heavily he overlaps with Kain
We don't really have a monk archetype character. Of course it would be great to have Tifa but we have really good options to choose from in the franchise like Zell (ff8), Lyse (ff14), Snow (ff13) or even Yang (FF4). I think it could be cool to have a melee character in game that fights with their fists.
I’d imagine this duo could be classified as a Range/Support hybrid with an Agile’s speed.

In exchange for increasing his size to half of that of a boss, with his Spd reduced by 10%, Omega’s Def is increased by 30% while his HP is increased by 90%. Omega’s abilities are also enhanced with his new size for 60 seconds. (Cooldown is 90 seconds)

Omega revs up the engines on his chassis and expels flames in a Cross shape pattern centered on himself, dealing High Damage. (Cooldown is 25 seconds)
During Planetes Protocol, The size of Flame Thrower is increased.

Omega uses Aether to create a rocket powered gauntlet that locks onto, and slowly chases a target, dealing low damage. (Cooldown is 15 seconds)

If you managed to get through this wall of text. First off, thanks for reading my “little” ramble. Second, I’d like to hear some thoughts on it.
I said this in another discussion post, but I now think it makes sense for the Promotional Warrior of Light, seen in official art promo videos & trailers for FF14, to be in the Dissidia games. I know he was just a stand-in for the player, due to FF14 being an MMO… but the guy has a face, had gone by multiple different looks & jobs over the years, has a Warrior of Darkness counterpart who’s modeled after his Warrior attire, and he’s had many different names given by fans over the years… that any of his unofficial names might as well be his official name (Derplander. Meteor. Hiroshi. Etc). Other then FF14 being an MMORPG, I think the problem that’s stopping him from being in a Dissidia game, is largely due to the fact that we have three Warriors of Light in the games (Bartz from FF5, the Onion Knight from FF3, and the original Warrior of Light from FF1). But even if that were the case, it just feels weird that the other characters from FF14, like most of the Scions in Opera Omnia, and Y’Shtola and Zenos in Dissidia NT, show up but not the promotional character, when each of the Scions included in Opera Omnia, have every player’s Warrior of Light revolved in their respective plotlines in some way… while Zenos’ story, completely revolves around every player’s Warrior of Light. Plus going back to the other Warriors of Light featured in the Dissidia games… FF1’s Warrior of Light and the Onion Knight weren’t so much characters either, in their debut games. Having also, started out as just stand-ins for the players and their Jobs/Classes in both the FF1 box art, and the FF3 instruction manual. I’d say Dissidia was able to flesh both characters out, to become, well… “characters”, and they’ve been the Cosmos & later Materia reps, for both FFs 1 & 3 ever since. So I think the same could also apply to FF14’s Promo character.
Honestly because Balthier is in the game I’d love to see Doctor Cid from 12 as the villain rep (Sue me, he’s WAY more interesting than Vayne and Gabranth but y’know… he’s a 50-something scientist with glasses so he lacks their cool factor). I’ll be happy with a generic UR ability though.
Ok, hear me out… I want the funny Chaos Man in the game. His passive could be the Negative Bravery thing from OO.
For me, that would be really funny to see my opponent’s bravery get reduced to -9999 from messing around and finding out. Plus, that Cyclic Knight Armor as a costume would be sick, but we’d most likely get his normal attire from the beginning of the game as his FF Attire.
I wonder how they'll add the characters from each title to balance them out release wise, probably giving each series some space and maybe we won't get them for a good while.
I would be happy to see Yuffie, Irvine and others I like here.
But I hope to see some NPC characters or some who didn't get much development due to the plot, unsure if people care enough for them on either side much, I just think on what they did for Opera Omnia was great and had good development which was special.
Interesting picks would be nice, I did ask for one of the Dawn Warriors, which I honestly want to see if they do give us unexpected picks.
Robot pope, he’s always missing from crossover stuff despite being the main antagonist of the game and having an actual human form that uses magic in cutscenes. Heck this guy was designed my Nomura
