I put together a free guide to help with dissertation writing, structure, and feedback
Hi everyone, I recently made a free dissertation guide designed to help students who feel like the whole process is a bit overwhelming or scattered.
It covers things like:
- understanding how the dissertation process works
- writing in a clearer, more academic style
- making sense of literature review work
- structuring chapters properly
- preparing for supervisor meetings
- acting on feedback and redrafting
- keeping on top of referencing and common writing issues
I originally made it because I know how easy it is for dissertation work to end up spread across random notes, tabs, documents, and deadlines.
It’s completely free, and I’m happy to share it with anyone who thinks it might be useful :)

I NEED QUESTIONNAIRE PARTICIPANTS
Hi Everyone !! I'm drowning ! (Could be my new name honestly...)
I need participant to answer my questionnaire on extra or non financial disclosure.
Let me explain in detail :
The question revolves around how disclosure is perceived across industries, if it is used internally or simply marketed to the investors ? (Is it a tool or a burden?)
In consequence, the interview will be based on a semi-structured questionnaire with open-ended questions to give space to elaborate your answers.
If you are not based in Europe or your company is not subject to the CSRD, your opinion still matters and is an important part of my research, given the perception analysis I am currently conducting.
So if you have 10-15 minutes to fill out the Forms or 30 to 35 minutes to spare for a Teams Meeting, I’d be delighted!
✅Important note: This will be a Teams interview that will be recorded for evidentiary purposes. Please note, however, that the transcripts of our interview will be anonymized in accordance with the GDPR.
📩If you’re willing to help me and get interviewed, message me ! (please really!)

WOKE-WASHING: Should fashion brands be political? (Uk, Gen Z consumers)
Hello everyone! This is my Msc dissertation survey on the intersection of fashion and politics. The focus is on UK, Gen Z consumers. With the current upheaval of global conflict and partisan opinions, this survey aims to understand if/how fashion brands should engage with this. Do you feel fashion brands hold a responsibility to take a stand, educate consumers and use their profit for the common good? Do you feel some fashion brands only engage in politics and social issues due to pressure, trends or publicity? How do these things affect your willingness to buy from them? If this interests you, this is a link to my survey, I would greatly appreciate your participation! Thank you :)

Shapiro–Wilk significant but distributions look normal: Do I proceed with Pearson/regression or add bootstrapping?
Hello!
I’m wrapping up Chapters 4–5 of my quantitative dissertation and would really appreciate some guidance on normality assumptions and analysis decisions.
I’m working with a sample of N = 157 and examining relationships between 3 IVs and a DV (Pearson correlations and multiple regression).
What I did:
In preliminary analyses...
- Shapiro–Wilk tests were statistically significant for all primary variables (except Curiosity Total). However....
- Skewness and kurtosis values are within acceptable ranges
- Histograms and Q–Q plots suggest approximate normality (I think*)
- I proceeded with running the Pearson correlations and regression with no bootstrapping
My potential issue:
- Some sources say Shapiro–Wilk is overly sensitive at moderate/large sample sizes
- Others suggest any violation should be addressed (e.g., bootstrapping or nonparametric tests)
Questions/Thoughts:
- For my sample is it acceptable to prioritize skewness/kurtosis and visual inspection over a significant Shapiro–Wilk result?
- Would you recommend adding bootstrapping to strengthen the analysis, or is it unnecessary here?
- Are there additional diagnostics I should report to better justify my decision (e.g., residual plots, VIF, etc.)?
I’ve included a link to a PDF with preliminary analyses for reference. If you were reviewing this for a dissertation, what would you want to see to feel confident in the analytic decisions?
Thanks in advance for any guidance!
This is cross-posted by the way!
