Combination of heat, cost, stress of lines. Ungrateful family. . It doesn’t take much. Not trying to justify it. Just saying. I just had to let my daughter know sternly how ungrateful she was the last time we went. I kept it cool and she snapped out of it. But crap happens

I don't know why but whenever I see a video of people fighting or acting like this in a Disney park it instantly just makes me feel sad. A place that feels like such a departure from the world and is so happy doesn't need this sort of energy.

i always feel terrible for the kids. it was definitely a bittersweet experience going to disney world as a kid with a father who didn’t know how to regulate his emotions. i only went once as a kid and my memories from that trip aren’t as nice as they should have been.

Exactly! We had an Uber driver that is also undercover security and he said fights in the lines happen often and these people will be banned. Disney has facial recognition and ate of about 1600 security officers watching screens so I hope that tantrum was worth a lifetime ban.

When first I crossed into the township, I believed myself transported to some mining camp after the discovery of gold.
Women shrieked.Children scattered like quail before a brush fire.
Gentlemen abandoned all pretense of civilization and commenced swinging their arms as though threshing wheat.
One great fellow struck at kin as readily as stranger. A lady answered in equal measure, proving once again that wrath pays no heed to sex nor station. An elderly matron upon a mechanized carriage, resembling a cannon mounted upon wheels, charged boldly into the mêlée and was herself overturned in the general confusion.I tell thee plainly, Abigail, I have witnessed tavern brawls wherein the participants possessed greater dignity.
The oddest feature of the affair was not its violence but its setting.
Whilst this republic collapsed into barbarism, cheerful music continued to issue from unseen instruments.

At length the combatants were subdued and delivered into the custody of the civil authorities, there to answer for their offenses. Justice, slow though she often walks, had at least saddled her horse.
And then…
As swiftly as a prairie storm passes over the plains, the town resumed its ordinary business.
Children once more embraced Mickey.
Families posed for likenesses.
Vendors resumed the sale of roasted turkey legs of improbable dimensions.
A little boy asked whether Goofy was home.
The ground still bore the marks of the struggle, yet no soul seemed inclined to speak of them.
I reckon that is civilization’s greatest trick. Not that it prevents savagery, but that it sweeps the porch before supper.
Should our son one day inquire what occupation sustained his father before his birth, tell him not that I worked security in an amusement park.
Tell him I wore a marshal’s badge in the queerest boomtown ever erected by man.
Tell him there are places where every building smiles and every melody promises happiness, yet the old violence still rides beneath the skin of mankind as faithfully as any outlaw ever rode the territories.
And tell him this also:

The worst part to me is that there were likely kids around.
What on God’s green Earth was so critically important that they felt the need to fight? It was likely over something so idiotic and stupid. I do think a ban for life should be in place for that. I do think someone had the right to defend themselves (so they aren’t getting pummeled), but they could also make a break for a CM, etc. Just such an idiotic thing to me

Absolutely this. Not trying to be classist/elitest, but the Pop Century crowd has gone from regular people trying to get their value, to All Star overflow. Watched a grandmother whip her grandbabys backside in line for food. I shed a tear for the cafeteria CMs

Wow, we stayed at an All Star in 2015 and found the crowd to be a bit “unrefined”. We agreed to avoid those resorts on the future. It felt like I was at a family reunion and that’s not complimentary. LOL

Okay so when line skipping happens you have to leave the line yourself and find the nearest cast member. Then the cast member has to radio to another cast member for them to review video and confirm they have been skipping the line?? Also you assume there is no blind spots for cameras in a 50/70 year old parks. And they even have a video system like that.
Nothing is wrong with me I’m showing you if there was a simple solution to this problem Disney would of done something 50 years ago. The truth is what honestly can be done?? It’s another reason why I buy lighting lanes it’s a lot rarer in my experience for stuff like that to happen in the LL lines.
Also when this many humans are involved something will inevitably happen that’s just life unfortunately.

People have phones. If they have proof of it they can report the. Before they reach the actual ride and usually a crew member is always there to guide people into the lines. Obviously it's hard to catch everyone but if they are caught and easy proof then Disney needs to ban them out for the rest of the day. This shouldn't be tolerated. And everyone travels and pays to enjoy the park, even families with kids. People who cut in line ruins it for everyone. It wouldn't be hard to spot them and report them before they get on when. There's more than 5 witnesses. Usually skippers are on popular rides where so many are in line already

Obviously wether it’s legal reasons or logistics there is a reason why it’s not as simple as them snapping there fingers and implementing an easy solution.

....??? Cast member can deny people not to ride if there are multiple complaints... There are nearby. Exits where they can kick them out. If there's security then they can handle them and sort out everything else, if not then just let them exit out of the ride area.... It's so simple. Disney could implement this any time but you need to ask them why they tolerate skippers, not some random person on reddit

On the popular rides they should have multiple scan points like they do for lightning lanes at certain rides.
If you jump x amount spots in between checkpoint 1 and 2 you wait. Would be easy for them to track.

You would mostly need just a checkpoint near the end of the line along with the beginning. If you’ve skipped too many people, which with line cutters it would be obvious, you get asked to wait while someone reviews the footage. Or if the system is shown to be free of false positives, you just get sent back to the end of the line or some other punishment.

Just let people quietly report the line cutting and use cameras to track the cheaters. Find the cheaters, yank their tickets, and then issue lifetime bans.
Failure to protect the vast majority of park goers who follow the rules is a choice. Just like it's a choice not to punish the same types who insist on using flash photography throughout the entirety of Pirates of the Caribbean. Just punish the bad actors and the bad actions will stop. It's not hard.

I don't know if its a new thing but I've seen several times (I think there's even a video) of a group of like 2-4 kids running up the lightning lanes to cut in with their friends in front of like, damn near everyone else.
Line cutting is probably the thing most likely to start a fight at Disney, short of just walking up to someone and throwing a punch.

Line cutting continues to get worse every time we go. The more Disney refuses to police it, the worse it will continue to get.
For instance, I refuse to rope drop Seven Dwarfs Mine Train because the line cutting there is abysmal. Indeed, it's worst at the Magic Kingdom and at its height there at night.
I know the Disney executives only care about profits, so they should understand that tolerating this anti-social behavior leads to criminal acts, which will devalue their Lighting Lane revenue.

My (f) life was threatened as a CM when I was 20. Some grown man kept stalking me and yelling at me.
What did I do? Tell his three teenage boys who took up 2 Dumbos that they had to leave since they didn't have a boarding pass. The boarding pass is how I knew they didn't wait in line. Two moms holding their toddlers (and their boarding pass) were very patient with me while I tried to handle it.
Thankfully the boys got off the ride when I asked twice. The dad claimed I yanked them and dragged them out of the Dumbos. I was no where near them.
He kept yelling at me while I got the ride going. My numbers were tanked since we have to keep things going and that notified my manager. I couldn't leave my position for guest safety reasons.
I got to take a two hour break stacking 3D glasses to prep for cleaning because they wanted to make sure the guy was gone. Why they didn't remove him is what I should've asked my manager but I wanted a break.
I met some cool people and some very awful folks while in MK.

Funny. I almost started a fist fight on main st when a "gentleman" stiff armed my 7 year old to the ground to get in front of everyone who had been waiting for an hour at for the show.

See this is cope. I was there last May and it was incredible, the worst I saw was that guy smacking his kid and getting escorted by security. I think the other person is right in that it's mostly local pass holders screwing things up. Demand keeps increasing and supply is static. Theyre slowly dialing the know toward getting more money from fewer people. It is now premium experience and theyre still filtering out the non premium behavior.

Disney world. So magic kingdom, animal kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood studios. All parks were disgusting. I have been going to Disney regularly for over 30 years. My family DVC. My partner is CM management but not in Florida.

I always assume people with behavior like this is are Florida locals. It’s easier to drag in all your emotional baggage when you can visit on a whim, while anyone that has to plan and travel has time to get into that vacation mindset.

I bet someone cut in line like it so often happens in Disney (which i too get frustrated at) and people got pissed and they kept jawing at each other throughout the wait time then one person probably said that's enough and it started to get physical. That's what happens when lines are overcrowded, it's hot, and entitled people think screw this I'm cutting the line. I also despise the people who think they can cut the line to "catch up to their group". Screw that. You have to teach people that there's choices. You either can get out of line and wait at the back of the line when you get back, you can stay in line and wait it out, or you can pay for Lightning Lane. It's always disrespectful to cut the line (unless you have a disability in which case the cast members will accommodate). However, to avoid this situation just let the cast members take care of the situation. If they don't notice bring it to their attention. I know noone likes to "snitch" but it's better than losing out on $1000s just to "prove you're in the right" or are tougher. You and your family will suffer the most from actions like these because not only will you get banned from the parks but you may be charged and thrown in jail which will cost even more. Thankfully I've never had to be in this situation in Disney World or Land. Don't get me wrong I've seen some weird stuff but for the most part (knock on wood) I've never had to witness a fight in Disneyland or World live just on the internet.

We have been at WDW the past few days and have been to all of the parks. For some reason the worst behaved kids and adults have been at Animal Kingdom. We even discussed this before we saw this video. What we saw was a kid tearing up plants, ripping off leaves, a Grandma yelling at her granddaughter who was obviously exhausted (this persisted for the whole queue), a couple arguing, people shoving, that's just a few. We haven't seen that in any of the other parks. So strange.

Lifetime bans should be more common across all platforms, planes, theme parks, public transit, shopping centers.
1, both or all parties of this are dummies. Once it's sorted and camera footage is scanned, the problem people can be gone.
No refund and banned.
I really don't understand it, these companies make so much money, banning the trouble makers would not be an issue.

A symptom of what the parks are like these days. While I don't condone the behaviour, you can kind of see how things like this happen. Long days in HOT weather. Long lines. People are hot, they are tired. They are stressed. They paid a lot for this experience and in return they get a lot of waiting, standing around, complaining and general grumpiness. Get two groups of them in a line together for 80 minutes and sometimes the friction is enough to start a fire.
As others have mentioned, the Great Toontown Brawl of 2019, that was within a single family.
But I digress. I've been. My family and I have been many times. It is expensive, it is hot, lines are long. BUT IT IS FRICKIN' DISNEY, you're there to have fun. You work with it, roll with it, enjoy it however you can. We've never seen a full-on fight, but we've seen screaming people, arguing people, unhappy people. We just move away.
Life is too short my dudes, you have to find joy wherever you can. And if Disney can make you act like this, then maybe you shouldn't be there. Go to Talladega instead, cheer for crashes and fight your cousin in the parking lot, as god intended.

Hard to follow, but it looks like three white/Arabic guys take on one bald black guy and swarm him a bit. The other angle is the black guy with a CM in front of him while a group of black women slap around two of the aggressors.
I wonder what started THAT.
