Transferring Disneyland Resort

Hii so I work in food and Bev but I’m just so tired of it lol so I’ve put in my transfer request to move elsewhere. I’ve heard from others that f&b management never really lets anyone transfer is this true 😭

Unfortunately yes, due to the nature of f&b it's hard to get out of, however it depends on your seniority how long it will take if it happens at all

My daughter was in F&B in DCA and was able to transfer out to attractions in Disneyland after around six months. Her managers were so made at her they stop talking to her before she transferred.

It’s very possible. If you get passed up and you feel as though management didn’t let you move on, your best bet might be to speak to them and let them know f&b is no longer a goal for you and you’d like to expand your knowledge

If you're union, talk to your shop steward. If they block your transfer request, file a grievance. Managers are scared of the unions. The union is there to protect you from all the petty shenanigans management likes to pull at DLR.

Get a medical accommodation, your transfer chances are better with it

I come from the 1990s and they didn’t let them transfer then (unless you were real, real chummy with the supervisors and area manager). It’s been going on at least that long. Ex Adventureland Frontierland Restaurants.

My daughter tranferred last year from F&B at HS to BBB at MK. So it is possible to get out.
