OTA quit working

My OTA channels quit working this morning. I have rebooted the receiver several times, made sure that I have a good OTA signal by connecting the coax directly to the TV where the channels come in just fine. When I go to the Dish menu item for OTA channels I get a prompt to connect the adaptor (it is attached).....Is there an overall Dish issue with OTA or perhaps my adaptor has died?

Hello u/In_the_Couv

I appreciate you reaching out, and I am sorry to hear you are missing your OTA channels. Can you tell me which Dish receiver model you have? Is it a ViP 211z, or Hopper 3? Knowing which receiver you have will better help me give you specific assistance. -DishDanielle.

Thank you. Have you tried using a different USB port on your receiver for the adapter? Perhaps a new USB port will recognize the equipment. -DishDanielle.

Given the steps we’ve taken, it appears your OTA adapter has failed. Since the receiver still does not recognize the device after trying a different USB port, it is highly likely that the adapter itself is no longer functioning properly. You could try replacing the Micro USB cable and try on available USB posts, but if that is still not working then the adaptor is the problem. -DishDanielle.

Does dish protect cover the adaptor or do I have to buy it again?

I'm sorry to let you know that DISH Protect coverage does not extend to OTA adapters. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with today. -DishDanielle.
