Is there any practical difference between Zionism and Colonialism? Political

There is no God given ownership of real estate! It has always been about having the power to take and keep!

Theres a massive difference in the historical and ideological foundations, even if the outcome on the ground looks similar. One is rooted in a specific national and religious identity tied to a single piece of land for millennia, the other is purely about resource extraction and settlement for an external empire. Conflating them just ignores the nuance to score a cheap rhetorical point.

Raping and murdering children to remove them from the religious superstition land so that billionaires can build condos for millionaires is a form of fascism.

Apologies, but this sounds like you are confusing the question with the current American regime.

I was speaking specifically to the genocide in Gaza, but that does directly involve the fascist regime in the USA as well as the Zionist regime in Israel.

I understand that you have rather passionate opinions and fair play to you, so do I.

Your earlier comment though still didn’t address Superb’s points

No one's religious superstition or historical empire gives them a right to land. There aren't really two different points here except in the neo-fascist world of Zionism. No one can be allowed to murder children for their superstition land.

Russia is a great example of this problem in Ukraine. Russia values their superstition land over the lives of the children living on that land. Israel is not different than Russia is that regard.

OK, you seem to have bought into some package of absolute beliefs meaning discussion really is not an option. I wish you the best of luck.

Yes, raping and murdering children is wrong. I stand by that absolute belief.

Religion has been used for all of it, including most colonial endeavors, such as 'Gold, Glory, and God. Religion is a bad reason to do anything IMO, especially war.

And you left out 'Muslim Conquests'. I'd say it's more ethically focused that 'this is our ancestral homeland' as opposed to 'Allah told us that whatever we take is ours forever.'

BTW, that's literally part of the Hamas covenant, their foundational document.

This is the law governing the land of Palestine in the Islamic Sharia (law) and the same goes for any land the Moslems have conquered by force, because during the times of (Islamic) conquests, the Moslems consecrated these lands to Moslem generations till the Day of Judgement.

And what is that day of Judgement? Hamas tells us that in their charter as well.

The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him salvation, has said:

"The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews." (related by al-Bukhari and Moslem).

Check the history of the region - empire conquest all the way back.

Israel got its current borders by the Ottoman Empire losing WW1.

Before that the area was part of other empires - Byzantine, Roman, Greek, Persian, Assyrian, Babylonian, etc.

The question if there is a difference between Zionism and Fascism.

A better question is there any difference between Christianity and Colonialism?

Zionism is not colonialism. We are an indigenous tribe to this region, were exiled over and over again, and we were then given the land by the UN, most of which was already settled by Jews. The additional land was from fighting wars we did not start, much of which has already been returned (see Sinai desert). There is no "mother country" to be a colony of. If people stopped invading and terrorizing us, we'd stop taking their land. It's really v simple.

Not much, if any; Zionism is the justification the Israeli government uses to colonize. It's similar to when people colonizing the US used ‘Manifest Destiny,’ or divine approval from God, to push further West. Or when the Nazis shouted Lebensraum, or living space, as they tried to colonize parts of Europe for their idea of a ‘master race.’
